Yikes, where did the weekend go?! Hope you all had a good one and didn't get trapped by second incarnation of the beast from the east! I (Dorrie) decided to take a few pictures on Friday during the cream making process. In the photos, I am making our gorgeous Seabuckthorn and Frankinscence Night Cream. You can see here that when we say our products are hand made, they truly are! No fancy gadgets or industrial mixing machinery, just me, Russell hobbs and a hand whisk. The whole process from start to finish takes about one hour, including about 20 minutes hand mixing the liquid as it cools and binds into a cream. Then, it all gets potted up into jars and labelled which takes approx another hour. A lot of love (and time) goes into making every one of the products in our range but we really wouldn't have it any other way!

A public service announcement to all our lovely customers! The sweet Cecilys team has been depleted this week with Hugo being the only one able to get to work! I (Dorrie) have been stuck in my little cottage on the top of the cliffs with no way out. It seems some of our couriers are struggling to get to us too. Please be patient if you have an order in with us, we are trying our best to get them to you but unfortunately Royal mail were unable to collect the post yesterday. Hope you're all staying warm ❄❄

Did you know.... January this year saw the ban on the use of harmful microbeads in the manufacturing of all personal care products. In July this year, it will be a legal offence to sell any cosmetics containing microbeads in the UK punishable by a fine of 10% of annual turnover of the business. Non compliance can even result in criminal sanctions. Here at Sweet Cecily's we are proud to have never used microbeads (we prefer walnut shells for exfoliating purposes!) or any other ingredient that is harmful to the environment. What's more, all our packaging is fully recyclable! All businesses CAN be sustainable and environmentally friendly, the key here is care. And we do, very much.

Yesterday, Hugo and Dorrie made their way to Leicester for the Next Supplier conference. It was a great opportunity to meet other sellers and also discuss ideas for exciting new products with the team at Next.
