Swimtime Swimming Lessons In Stockport Description

We offer swimming classes to suit you and your child in Stockport. We currently teach at three venues- the Village hotel in Cheadle the Hallmark hotel in Handforth, and The Kingfisher Health Club in Reddish.

We provide a relaxed learning atmosphere and lessons that are fun, whatever age or stage our pupils are at.

We know how important it is to learn to swim, and so we work with only the best swimming teachers. All are highly experienced, trained to internationally-recognised standards, and really love swimming.

Our class sizes are small, which means that our pupils get lots of attention, and consequently make great progress.

We believe that learning to feel at home in the water is the key to good swimming, and will always spend time making sure you or your child are comfortable before moving on to teaching the next skill or stroke technique.

We think that the best teachers are not only highly qualified, but know how to engage with their pupils, how to make the lessons fun, and how to put their pupils at their ease

We know that the teachers working with us are the best because pupils and parents ask for more lessons with them by name.

Heading to the beach this weekend?
Drowning accidents are especially high in the summer months and over the last few years, we have heard of far too many tragedies that could have been easily avoided.
Every year people drown both at home and on holiday because they don’t take simple precautions, so reaching people with water safety messages is vital.
... We want everyone to enjoy the water safely. Please help to avoid another tragic summer this year by following and sharing these messages from the RLSS.

• When researching your holiday, or arriving at your destination, check the safety arrangements of any water-based activities and whether there is lifeguard cover at the pool or beach.
• Check bathing sites for hazards, check the safest places to swim and always read the signs – find out what local warning signs and flags mean. Take time to check the depth, water flow and layout of pools.
• Swim with any children in your care – it’s more fun and you can keep them close and sa...fe.
• On beaches check when the tide will be high and low and make sure that you won’t be cut off from the beach exit by the rising tide. Also, be aware of dangerous rip-currents.
• Inflatables like dinghies or lilos are a well-known hazard – every year someone drowns when inflatables are blown out to sea. Do not use them in open water.
• Do not swim near to or dive from rocks, piers, breakwater or coral.
• Swim parallel to the beach and close to the shore.

Many of these drownings occur due to a lack of knowledge and understanding of open water safety. The basic principles of open water safety, combined with knowledge and understanding of the hazards, can increase enjoyment of open water and significantly reduce the number of incidents that occur each year.⠀ ⠀ Water is by its very nature hazardous and care must always be taken when being near water margins. The conditions at open water sites change constantly.⠀ ⠀ The dangers of ...open water include:⠀ • The height of the fall or jump if tombstoning⠀ • The depth of the water – this changes and is unpredictable⠀ • Submerged objects may not be visible⠀ • Obstacles or other people in the water⠀ • Lack of safety equipment and increased difficulty for rescue⠀ • The shock of cold water can make swimming difficult and increase the difficulty in getting out of the water⠀ • Strong currents can rapidly sweep people away⠀ • Uneven banks and river beds⠀ • Water quality eg. toxic algal blooms and industrial/agricultural pollution⠀ ⠀ Please visit https://www.rlss.org.uk/P…/Category/wat er-safety-information for more vital information @RLSSUK #DrowningPrevention #DPW #STOPDROWNING #WaterSafety #ColdWaterShock #FloatToLive #RespectTheWater

Over 700 people lose their lives to drowning in the UK and Ireland every year and thousands more suffer injuries, some lifechanging, when they survive drowning. We are supporting Drowning Prevention Week between the 14-24 June 2019. #STOPDROWNING #DPW
