Hazardous tree work carried out today as part of recommendations in an annual Visual Tree Inspection at Ranscombe Farm Reserve. Removal of deadwood over footpaths was the main aim.

Latest commission - 2ft heart for a wedding anniversary and a 22in horse head for a veterinary graduate using yew, hazel, cherry, beech and ash. All wood harvested from local woodland management projects.

Deadwood is vital for wildlife, this fallen oak will be fantastic habitat for many species including insects, small mammals and birds. It will be left in the centre of this glade to slowly rot down. After 3 years of hard Winter’s work, we’ve finished our chalk grassland restoration contract at Ranscombe Farm Reserve. We’ve opened up the woodland edges to allow regeneration of wild flowers, shrubs and plants to flourish. Time flies when you’re having fun! I hope we did Steve proud finishing it!
