You might be wondering how we could possibly relate Shakespeare Day to dentistry… well here's a fun fact for you:
Did you know that the phrase "set your teeth on edge" came from its earlier form "to edge the teeth", meaning a feeling of sensitivity caused by acid?
It went on to become a description for distaste (as we know it now), first being used in Wycliffe's Bible in 1382, and then by Shakespeare himself in 1596 in a line that reads "and that would set my teeth nothing o...n edge" from Henry IV, Part I.
