Orange caramelized cake by Rebekah: nice, sweet and moist. As good as it looks!

User

Pastry chef Frédérique & Syrup of Soot chef Rebekah collaborated to bring you a summer apple caramel tart. Both of us have made apple tart but we decided to join forces, flavours and ideas to create an apple tart just for Syrup of Soot! We call it our SoS Tart and it is not only a beautiful flavour but provides you with one of your five a day! 😘

Caramel Apple Tart in progress by Rebekah and Frédérique: one tart, 2 chefs!!!

User

Here we have one of Rebekah’s inventions, crunchy, cheesy deliciousness 😋 breakfast sandwiches. We named them the Bloomsbury Sandwiches. But how does she manage to centre the egg so perfectly???? She’s a magician! F

Frédérique hosting the successful monthly Queers Without Beers event with Laura & Jussi and their members. Join them every 3rd Wed of the month at our cafe

The season of the apricot. Healthy, juicy, and full of flavour. I saw the beautiful orange coloured apricots, and my mind wonder back to my childhood. My grandfather picking his own fruit from his trees, and making the most delicious apricot tarts all summer. With this inspiration i have recreated my own version of my grandfathers tarts. I call it the Louis Apricot Tart, after my grandfather. Hope you all enjoy eating my tart, as much as I did backing it. Bon appétit! F

User

Antoine on the desk, ready for the Vinery London event at Syrup of Soot!

Thank you David for your appreciation of our independent Victorian cafe through TripAdvisor. Reading it feels like someone's front room with French Pastry Chef-in-Residence Frederique's homemade cakes and what you kindly call 'excellent coffee' from Chris T. is humbling for us. You nailed it, we like for all to enjoy Syrup of Soot as a home away from home for all.
See you and your friends soon again. We hope we can keep our local cafe adventure up to your expectations.
War...m regards, The Syrup of Soot team

Vinery London taking residency at Syrup of Soot Fri 20 Apr from 8pm-midnight. Enjoy a night of wine tasting in their honesty bar!

User

Very sweet Café, but set in a very old collection of buildings, on Museum Street !!! :)

User

This gorgeous little cafe was a magic find! Beautiful triple-shot flat white (double ristretto flat white for us Aussies), friendly charming service and great cakes. Ee went back in the late afternoon and it was still consistently fabulous. Thanks for a great coffee experience folks .

Excellent unsweetened iced coffee, a friendly welcome and easy WiFi. The coffee at the next table smelt so rich and enticing. Definitely going back!

Can't seem to add a photo to show you how good the surroundings were.

User

Excellent tea, great attention and beautiful local. I would love try cakes next time

User

Cosy, quirky, tiny coffee shop with lovely staff who made us feel like we were old friends. Great vegetarian food too.

User

Can't believe we crossed paths with this Aussie coffee legend, Chris at Syrup of Soot near the British Museum. Struggled to find decent coffee in London and was so thrilled that my old Sydney buddy was filling the gap. Homemade frittata, chicken and salad for lunch in a gorgeous setting with friendly staff. @syrupofsoot has to be one of the best in town. Wish we'd found it sooner!

User

Best coffee in london, staff are lovely. Atmosphere is exquisite. One of my favourite places to visit when in London

User

Beautiful place, a nice contrast between a old fashoned style bar and a modern kitchen. Definitely the best brownie cake of London and a proper coffee(with no need to be corrected with sugar) for those who can still appreaciate and understand the difference between a real high quality coffee and a commercial dirty water. The staff is nice, very friendly and cute:)

User

Amazing friendly staff and very relaxed environment . Best place for friends gathering and chat

User

All the place and who work there are full of the best energy

User

A must visit, hidden gem in London. We planned on grabbing a quick coffee and we ended up staying for an hour! Cozy, beautiful and delicious coffee.
