I was asked last week by a client what Chakra balancing was, hope this answers the question.
Ancient cultures knew that all living things carried a life force with them. They are called Chakras are often described as centres of energy that move inside of us, there are 7 mane ones, and 21 minor chakras
Chakra is an old Sanskrit word that literally translates to wheel.... This is because the life force, or prana, that moves inside of you is spinning and rotating like a wheel. This spinning energy has 7 centres in your body, starting at the base of your spine and moving all the way up to the top of your head.
In a healthy, balanced person, the 7 chakras provide exactly the right amount of energy to every part of your body, mind and spirit. However, if one of your chakras is too open and spinning too quickly, or if it is too closed and moving slowly, your health will suffer.
The chakras are personal energy centres that affect the mind, the emotions, the body and the spirit. All of the major and minor chakras are openings for energy to flow into the body. Energy is sucked into all of the chakras from the vast field of energy that exists in the cosmos.
The 7 main chakras are;
THE CROWN CHAKRA is located above the top of the head
THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA is located on the forehead, between the eyes
THE THROAT CHAKRA is located at the base of the throat
THE HEART CHAKRA is located in the centre of the chest
THE SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA is located centrally, below the rib cage
THE SPLEEN CHAKRA (SACRAL) is located just below the navel
THE ROOT CHAKRA is located at the pubic bone, corresponding to the base of the spine.
THE COLOURS LINKED WITH THE CHAKRAS
The base is red, the sacral orange, the solar plexus yellow, the heart green, the throat blue, the third eye violet and the crown white.
BALENCING YOUR CHAKRAS
Ensuring your chakras are in good working order you can do a number of things, coulure can be used, crystals, Reiki, meditations and visualisations, yoga, music and many other practices. You can lean to do this yourself with practice, study and understanding your own body and energy’s or you can ask someone else to do it for you. Most holistic therapists can do this.
I personally use a combination of Crystals and colour with music to help relax the client as I work over each area, this is done fully clothed and only they crystals touch the body. During a Reiki session the Chakras are balanced as well. Hopi Ear Candles
Hopi Ear Candles are hollow tubes made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs. When lit, the candle acts like a chimney, causing the warm air inside it to rise and creating a vacuum at the bottom. This vacuum gently stimulates the ear, facilitating removal of excess wax and impurities from the ear. The treatment consists of the patient lying in a comfortable position on his/her side with the head supported on a pillow, a small towel will should cover ...the hair. The lit candle is inserted carefully into the outer ear and the flame is allowed to burn down to within a short distance of a marked red line, when the candle is removed gently and extinguished in some water. The practitioner then massages gently around the ear. The procedure is repeated with the other ear. Hopi candles can be used for many conditions including deafness caused by excess wax, congested sinuses, irritation in the ears, ringing or noises in the ears, tinnitus, rhinitis, glue ear, colds, flu, headaches and migraines. As their action is so gentle, they are particularly suitable for children.

What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" (or hands hovering over the body) and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki can be done laying down on front or back or in a sitting position, however you feel comfortable. Reike can be used in conduction with crystal therapy
