We went to Billingsgate fish market early this morning to pick up some fresh Grouper, Dover sole, Turbot, King Prawns and Razor Clams!! Will be available all weekend!!

We visit this restaurant regularly for dim sums which are always delicious. Our children, their children all visit this place whenever we can for any occasion.

We loved it - great seafood - good atmosphere and nice service

This is our second visit tonight ( we won a hong Kong set menu for 2 on a Facebook competition) we decided to bring our children along and ordered a few extra dishes. The food is lovely the kids absolutely loved and we had to bring some home as we are all stuffed . Great service lovely people love the place

The Taipan is the best Chinese restaurant for miles around. Have eaten there hundreds of times over the years. Always like to go for dimsum on Saturday. Marvellous !

Taipan has to be my favourite chinese restaurant (apart from Hong Kong of course!). Food can be expensive here, but it's true that you get what you pay for, and the food is always freshly cooked and piping hot and very tasty. Highly recommend.

Quick service even in rush hour. Dim sum is always good.

I came here yesterday with my partner the food was yummi nice staff too. I come here to eat when i go to Milton Keynes as im not from there. The food is good here because other chinese restaurants put too much salt in the cooking which i really dont like.

Great food, best in MK. Not the cheapest but well worth the money.

6 years in MK, and this is our go-to restaurant for good Chinese food. Taipan has seen me as a preggie, and seen my children grow. The servers were so familiar with our family and they were like uncles and aunties, doting on my kids and watching them grow. We have left UK now to go back home to Sg, but we would honestly have not survived our homesickness without the excellent Chinese food and the familial atmosphere there. Thank you, Taipan for the great food and the great company. Hope everyone is good and keeping well! We will be sure to visit you if we drop by MK again! Xxx

Went for a meal out on friday (23rd feb) was really nice service, food came out quick and was cooked nice and even when a friend arrived later they took her order and brought her food out very quickly so we were able to eat together. Only problem was it was very cold and we all kept out coats on!!! But food and service was great. Thank you

Was in Milton Keynes shopping and decided to have a bite to eat with the other half, very nice evening and the food was very good

This Sunday there was no seating left on ground level so we headed upstairs. As far as I can tell this place serves authentic Chinese; this includes classics such as Lo Mai Gai, Shu Mai and Ho Fun (which had impressive "wok hei" on our first visit, though a bit less so on the second). Some say they thought the food was expensive; I thought 30 pounds for 2 was reasonable. We ordered from the dim sum menu and at this price we had jasmine tea, marinated tofu, ho fun with king prawns, steamed har gau, a crab dish (I think) and oozing steamed custard buns; which altogether was certainly enough food for two to satisfy. The first dish took a little while (15 minutes?) but as they kept coming while we were tasting the various dishes, this never was an issue.



A service charge (about 10%) was added to the bill - I always find this a bit cheeky but I would have rounded up and have ended up paying the same otherwise.

Really good great plain chow mein chicken dish was nice but not as illustrated on the the menu. Otherwise very good and the staff were lovely and attentive to the children

I only ever go to Taipan for Dim Sum. They are top notch and very well priced.

Make sure you book a table as it can get busy at weekends

Best Dim Sum around and well priced it's authentic it's tasty and it's quick. I spent several years living in HK and crave this stuff.

We have been to Taipan many times and until last night we have enjoyed a five star service. Last night they let us and themselves down. For the main course we ordered a prawn dish and a crab dish plus two different rice accompaniments. The prawns and both rices arrived together, but after 25 minutes there was no sign of the crab. Each time we queried the whereabouts of the crab we were told “it’s coming soon”. Eventually as the rice had gone cold we decided to leave. The prawn dish was excellent, but the evening was spoilt because we only got part of what we ordered and much of the meal went cold waiting for the remainder. I was then shocked that they expected us to pay in full for what was delivered to the table.
