Never before have I ever written or commented on any online media about a company or its service but after experiencing the most friendly, helpful and accommodating service from the team at Talland Bay Hotel I felt I must write to let everyone know what a wonderful hotel it is. My family and I visited Talland Bay last week taking 8 rooms and all requiring different things ...from disabled facilities to dog care and without fault in every interaction with the Talland Bay Team they were world class. Thank you for helping us create such wonderful memories.

What a fantastic boutique Hotel in an idyllic location, my wife booked this hotel as a surprise for my birthday, we were upgraded to a sea view room which was perfect, we had room 1 and it looked out over Talland Bay. We walked from the hotel to Polperro which certainly got the heart racing as there are some quite steep hills but well worth the effort. Our evening meal in the restaurant was delightful, great food and service in a lovely atmosphere. I couldn’t help but recommend this hotel, it’s one of the best we have ever stayed in. Thank you for the experience.

Well another stunning evening last night to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary; everything was amazing and it couldn’t have been better.

The Staff, Food and attention to detail was perfect and we cannot wait to get back.

Margaret and I love the Manoir but last nights experience was very much on a par.

Thanks again to all and we hope you soon get your third Rosette as you all certainly deserve it.

We stayed for one night (present through Secret Escapes from our daughter for my husbands 70th) . Memories for him as he spent many wonderful holidays at Talland Bay as a child.

Hotel was excellent. Lovely room overlooking the sea with attention to detail. Service from arrival to departure was excellent and a special mention for Jack and Kyra who were welcoming and first class at their respective jobs. Cream tea on arrival taken in a comfortable lounge area. A brilliant menu in the stunning dining room beautifully decorated for Christmas, as was the whole reception rooms.

Breakfast the following morning in the conservatory equally good.

Nothing to complain about and will recommend.

We stayed at Talland Bay recently for our 9th wedding anniversary. Just wow!

The hotel itself is wonderfully quirky and the food was just fabulous. We both come from a catering background and can honestly say that it was easily one of the best meals we have ever had. The service was very warm and friendly and we will certainly be back!

We just love it here , we visited on Sunday evening 16.7.18 and sat in the beautiful gardens . We visit every time our family come down from the North , we have so many wonderful memories and even had our wedding day here 6 years ago ... the setting is stunning , the food is the best in the area , the staff are knowledgable , welcoming and professional ... I can’t fault it ... thank you again for another fab evening x

We celebrated our 47th anniversary here and it was the best!

For comfort, attention to detail, food, decor, views and location it would be hard to beat! Loved the art, and the quirky items everywhere � and we took our dog!

We booked an afternoon tea with fizz for our son’s birthday. The choice of sandwiches was excellent - the crab one’s were divine & the bread was so fresh. The scones & homemade cakes were delicious & our individual tea pots were very deceptive as they held 3 full cups each. The prosecco was a small bottle each which gave at least 2 glasses per person. The staff were most pleasant & helpful & it was delightful to wander round the grounds afterwards and admire all the quirky sculptures around the gardens. I thoroughly recommend the afternoon te & we shall return for another - & also an evening meal there next year.

Very nice light lunch wonderful surroundings both inside and outside attentive staff price a little on the the high side but there again not entirely unexpected on the class of the establishment,being dog friendly is a definite plus sign for me must in the not too distant future spend a couple of nights here in the meanwhile will continue to visit

This was our 2nd visit and 3rd is booked for next month! Staff are friendly and very professional. So many little quirks to see. Rooms are great.

This hotel is exceptional in every way. My first and foremost praise would be to all of the staff, who make a visit here so special. A really natural approach to customer service which puts you at ease from the moment you walk through the door. The location is spectacular with the most amazing gardens overlooking the sea. (Only slightly spoilt by the ignorant dog owners who stay at the hotel and can’t be bothered to clean up after their dogs.)

The inside of the hotel is a visual feast with its mix of quirky, contemporary and traditional design showcasing some fantastic artwork and furniture. A real eye for detail there. A lovely touch by the the manager on arrival was to upgrade our room due to my height (6’5”) as they thought I would benefit from a bigger bed. (Thank you - After a lifetime of being cramped into small airline seats, this touch meant more than you’ll know). The room we had was so clean, beautifully presented and comfortable and had a great view across the garden and onto the sea.

We had dinner in the restaurant that evening and with a fantastic wine and drinks list to accompany the menu, I wouldn’t be surprised if a nod from Michelin was on the cards soon. A great menu, served in a relaxed but traditional dining room made for a brilliant and memorable evening that I won’t forget. We are already planning a return before Christmas.



Quite simply, the most enjoyable hotel stay I can remember. See you again soon.

Talland bay catered for my sons christening today, the afternoon tea was absolutely amazing, all our guests said it was lovely. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating, thank you all the staff �

Talland Bay Hotel holds a dear place in my heart, every time we go I feel refreshed and revitalised, the food, staff, decor and the piste de resistance the view instantly makes me smile. Can not recommend highly enough.

Such a beautiful hotel, fantastic views and the quirkiest gardens with an Alice in wonderland like theme, amazing trees. Fantastic food, lovely staff and highest quality rooms. Relaxed and doggie friendly, we will definitely return, our two day stay was not long enough....thank you to all the staff � best birthday prezzie ever�

My daughter and I have just come back from a one night stay, what can I say, but this place is outstanding, all the staff were amazing and so accommodating, & nothing was to much trouble. Lovely comfy bed, rooms spotless, amazing food, dogs spoilt rotten :) everything absolutely perfect, can't wait to return!!

Last minute dinner out to Talland Bay hotel. We ate in the conservatory and the food was delicious. We had baked Camembert to share for starter and then I had Crab linguine and my partner had crab salad . Both were amazing and the service was incredible.

Unfortunately I wasn't so pleased with the selection of desserts and my dessert was not so great. We will definitely go back and I gave enough subtle hints about my birthday dinner to my partner!

Just got back from a two night stay for my birthday .....this hotel is just magical. The staff friendly and very accommodating. The food is to die for ! We had a double aspect sea view room , the sea view is breath taking. I would 100% recommend this hotel . We will definitely be back soon !

Had a wonderful wedding weekend with friends and were welcomed with our little puppy Nellie. A blanket, bowl, dinner mat and scrummy treats in the room, especially for her. The service was excellent and particularly loved the views, the quirky items inside and outside of the hotel and the lovely food. Many thanks woofs, wags and licks Nellie, Jon and Janie Wellman

Great place. Fabulous staff and really quirky decor. Highly recommend the food too, in both restaurants.
