Tamasha Description

New play #MadeinIndia touring 24 Jan - 8 April 2017! http://bit. ly /2hQaNxD

Tamasha means “commotion”, creating a stir.

Our approach is boldly investigative and located along ‘cultural fault lines’, leading the debate around the meeting points and multiple narratives of contemporary Britain and beyond. We:

• present new plays from seldom-heard voices, charting the reality of lived multiculturalism

• train theatre artists and young people through ‘Tamasha Developing Artists’

• facilitate theatremakers to engage creatively with communities and audiences

We're thrilled to announce the publication of Hear Me Now - a unique anthology of more than 80 original audition monologues created by and for actors of colour. Commissioned by Tamasha, the volume is edited by Titi Dawudu and published by Oberon Books.
Conceived by Tamasha and Titi in 2016, Hear Me Now brought together playwrights and actors to generate more varied and nuanced 3-minute audition speeches than the often stereotypical characters currently available to culturally diverse actors and students.
The anthology will be officially launched on 1 November 2018 at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art). You can pre-order your copy of Hear Me Now: Audition Monologues for Actors of Colour here: http://bit.ly/2DKWjLE
