We loved this place so much we have signed up to the Q hotel rewards scheme. The spa was lovely, very clean and well maintained, the hotel itself is lovely, we only went for a night for a quick getaway but the deal for a three course meal, breakfast and a room with chocolates and wine on arrival was a bargain. The room was dated, I have to say, the carpet could do with replacing, I am not sure if we were in the older bit of the hotel as there was a wedding on and I assume they may have been a bit full, but the room was cleaned to the best the cleaners could probably do and the bathroom was really clean (i am really funny about hotel bathrooms and if there is anything like limescale anywhere I can't get in the shower. I normally cannot abide shower curtains but although I didn't pull it across I got in the shower, which I could only have done because it was that clean (i'm a bit of a freak when it comes to this). The food was lovely too but I can't say enough how impressed with the staff we were, I have never seen nicer staff or more helpful and eager to please staff anywhere, especially the ladies in reception and the lovely people serving breakfast. We are also members of the Hilton and Marriott chains, and with what they charge you would think their staff would be better, but the staff in this hotel put them to shame, the manager of this hotel should be very proud of their staff. We will be back again and again if the service remains the same, that is for sure!!

Visited for my birthday and the staff were fantastic, couldn't do enough for us. Especially Bev, our lunch wasn't available so she made sure we got something we liked and provided first class service. Would recommend highly.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and me and my partner wanted for nothing. The food was lovely (I had rib eye steak and it simply melted. The spa facilities were great and the staff in the spa were very helpful and friendly. Thank you for helping make a special weekend away for my partners birthday even better.

Saturday 11th October we had the event centre for mine and Clare wedding. I can not praise your staff enough. We were made to feel the only people that mattered and everything was as we had asked for and then some more.

Kay Speed is a credit to your hotel, not only did she keep the day moving along but she did everything that was needed to make out day wonderful, the room looked stunning and Clare said it looked just as she imagined it, even the bar manager went that extra mile to make it special.

A huge thank you for your staffs attentive actions and treatment of ourselves, our family and our friends

Really good hotel with friendly staff.Good bar food and convenient for the motorway if traveling

the pool and sauna make a good and refreshing start to the day

The only negatives were the amount of stairs to the room with the lack of a lift and no caffeinated coffee in the drinks tray with the kettle

I would recommend any body with disability problems inform the hotel ahead of stay. .

All the team were exceptional! Amy was so thoughtful and helpful with all the guests also. Each and every one of you deserve a mention! Thank you! I'd recommend you to anyone! Mr & Mrs Woodhall

Fantastic venue, for our wedding yesterday. Great organisation, brilliant toastmaster Andy, who ensured things ran seamlessly, what a star and very friendly staff in general, on my experience I would recommend as an ideal wedding venue.

Fabulous New Years break. Wonderful food, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff helpful and friendly and the spa is brilliant. We even stayed an extra day.

Couldn't have had better service from member of staff, in particular Andrew (wedding co-ordinator), Nikki and Patricia when we recently dressed chairs etc for the ceremony & reception meal at a recent wedding. Customer service is vitally important for hotels & other similar establishments, and Tankersley Manor certainly know how to provide it. Well done & many thanks indeed. At a wedding last night and everything was absolutely fantastic, venue, food, staff oh and beer lol

User

stale sandwiches and there was makeup dribbles under the sink...obviously cleaned only what they could see....staff were lovely, food was amazing, but the thought that hygiene levels where being left has put me off - would go again with a hope that it was a one off....

The accomodation and staff were fantastic. The food im sorry to say was not. It is over priced prawn cocktail 12 prawns bit of lettuce 8 thin slithers of avacodo and a drizzle of prawn sause £6.00 really. It was tastless. Main meal came with a plastic accomplimant sent it back got a different meal but by that time my parnter had finished his. Disappointing to say the least as it was his bday too. Staff did deal with it but the chefs need re training put some flavour in the food please.

Firstly I'd like to start with the Staff.

Up on arrival all the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

The room

The room I'm in is pretty basic, but what do you expect £60.00 bnb.

The restaurant

Well I ordered Crab & Smoked Cod cakes to start and a Porter house steak for main, the starter was fab . Unfortunately the steak was not ! It was not a Porterhouse (well not a complete one) it lacked a centre bone and was as tough as old boots. Well to be fair £27.50 for a porter house isn't top end pricing, but expensive enough for substandard.

The Bar.

Well at £4.95 a pint of Guinness I thought I was back in London ! But hey ho it's a hotel. When I pointed out that their publish on the wall price was only £4.60 I was told by their Egyptian ( I think ) Matrade/Manager that the published price was wrong and he took the price list down, leaving no list at all ! (not sure that's proper licence procedure)

Spa, Pool & gym

I did not try the facilities or gym or pool which I assume are perfectly adequate.

My opinion is its a catch them with the base price and rob them blind when they are there, type of establishment.

ps. Well kept bar and the Guinness was very good.

Tankersley Manor - I have been twice and have to say that I was not very impressed on either occasion. The first time was for a works Christmas celebration. On that occasion the food was poorly cooked and some was served cold. The second time was for a wedding reception. On this occasion I can only describe the food served as being like dog meat inside pastry. It was dry and not very hot with very poor vegetables. The Bride was upset, stating that this was not what she had expected. One of the guests was a vegetarian. What she was served was absolutely appalling. When she complained and asked to see the catering manager, she was treated very badly, almost with derision for having made a fuss. The evening buffet was also uninspiring with very little choice but it was marginally more edible than the wedding breakfast. It was a real pity because the surroundings are excellent.

I would do a lot of research if I were to book a function here in the future. I would need a lot of reassurance that this kind of service was not the norm.

Spa facilities no robes, couldn't book treatments on the day, Pool area was lovely and clean

Stayed for lunch which was a big disappointment, the food was cold and the beef was tough, however the sticky toffee pudding was the best I have ever had

User

If you ever stay her DO NOT pay on your card unless you want double taken then wait 10 days for it to be returned, standard process apparently and if you call them again don't expect to have any empathy towards the situation or expect them to pretend to care, worst service ever!

User

I will refrain from laundering dirty washing on here but only slept for 3 hrs last night after having to call police to an altercation on our floor. Will not return!
