Tanners Restaurant

The opening of Tanners Restaurant on 17th July 1999 was the realisation of a childhood dream shared by the Tanner Brothers - to own and operate their own establishment.

Tanners Restaurant is housed in the oldest surviving domestic building in Plymouth, the Prysten House, this stunning medieval building dates from 1490.

Much character remains in the premises, though, from flagged floors, exposed stone walls and canvases. It is the food on the plate that reflects 21st-century sensibilities; broadly modern British, the focus firmly on the local larder, with those carefully-sourced ingredients given room to breathe.

The Tanner brothers have written numerous cookery books, the pair also own the Barbican Kitchen.
