Tansley Village Hall Description

Tansley Village Hall is located at the heart of Tansley, next to the village green and children's playground.

Built in 1843, this attractive stone building was originally the village school. Its Victorian heritage gives it a particular character and charm. Now fully renovated and modernised, it is a beautiful venue for family parties and receptions, family celebrations, business meetings, group activities, concerts, theatrical performances and rehearsals etc. With a large main hall and two other large rooms, there's sure to be the space that you need for your event.

It has 100 beautiful upholstered banqueting /conference chairs, 32 folding tables and crockery, glassware and cutlery for over 100 guests, all included in the hire charge.

For full, comprehensive information about Tansley Village Hall, including all the facilities for hire and our regular events, classes and groups, please visit our web site tansleyvillagehall.org. uk .

When using a Sat Nav to visit us, please ensure that you enter DE4 5FH. A slip of the finger, e. g. putting GH rather than FH will take you to Lea, a village 4 miles away to the south!

When arriving in Tansley on the A615 from the east via the A38 and Wessington, turn RIGHT up Church Street, shortly after The Tavern Inn. Alternatively, if coming from the west via Matlock, turn LEFT up Church Street just after the Matlock Gurkha Inn.

Once in Church Street, Tansley Village Hall is on the RIGHT-hand side of the street, adjacent to the village green and the 4th turning right (called Spout Lane). Please do not confuse Tansley Village Hall with the smaller Tansley Community Hall on the left-hand side (just past 1st left on Church Street).

About 6 to 8 cars can park on our small car park, preferably with the front or rear of the car facing the Hall. Others should park in Church Street on the same side of the road as the Hall, preferably between Gold Hill (3rd right) and The Old Coach Road (4th left). Please do NOT park on pavements. Please do NOT park in Spout Lane as it is a narrow road providing access by wide farm tractors, refuse collection lorries, ambulances and fire engines to the fields, Fete Field and houses at the top of the lane as well as being used by nearby residents needing parking space.

Only O2, Tesco and Vodafone networks have good coverage near /inside the Hall.

The upper room is accessed from the rear of the Hall by walking up Spout Lane to the grass area behind the building. Please walk up the concrete slope and a few steps to the door.

If you have hired the Hall and would like to write a review for us, please add it at https://www. hallshire.com/halls /view /… /tansley-village-hall… . Thank you.

Being a former school, our Village Hall is in the heart of the local community. While striving to please our customers we try very hard too to be good neighbours and to learn from experiences. Consequently, we are no longer allowing fireworks to be used on the premises. The bangs they can produce at ground level sound like explosions that disturb the peace far too much.

Reminding you that it's our AGM at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 16th July. Please come to hear about our year, ask questions and perhaps join our management committee, becoming a trustee of our charity too.

Tansley Village Hall, as well as everyone in Tansley, has benefited enormously from Jane Flanagan's Tansley Hotwire news by email service. We congratulate Jane on its 10th anniversary today. Jane says "The service, which was officially launched on 9th July 2009 in a programme about Tansley on BBC Radio Derby, now has 494 subscribers, including 35 people who have signed up in the past 12 months. Tansley Hotwire is completely independent, having no affiliation with, or funding from, any organisation within or outside the village. It aims to disseminate without bias news and information directly related to Tansley."
Residents of Tansley can subscribe to Tansley Hotwire by sending a request by email to tansleyhotwire@gmail.com . [For more information please see http://www.tansleyparish.com/TansleyVilla …/Information.html…] :-)

One of our regular customers asked us if we could provide mugs in the Upper Room. We bought these modern, stylish, colour co-ordinated ones today. We are keeping cups and saucers too for those who prefer them.

Youlgrave Silver Band will be making a very welcome return next Sunday (7th July) from 2 pm to 4.30 pm for their excellent afternoon concert outside the Hall. Admission is FREE. Cream teas will be on sale inside.

Please do not scatter tiny metal/plastic stars/hearts etc. on tables at your party/reception at the Hall. At only a few millimetres across they inevitably end up left on the floor. It's impossible for us to pick up every one so some will be mopped-up when we wash the floors, get washed down the drains and may end-up polluting rivers and the sea.

Angela is unable to run the class on Wednesday 26th June. She expects to be able to return as usual in a week's time on 3rd July.
