While we agreed to pay top dollar for a very small room we did not expect to arrive back to our room 15 minutes prior to check out to find it completely stripped and our bags sitting unattended at the front door(my bag open as I left it) We were all very annoyed with this situation Lyn Riley
We made no such arrangements to leave our bags for the day....you have mistaken us for other travellers !

Lovely little hotel for a short break
The Tate House is a lovely little bed and breakfast in the heart of Alnwick. It has clean and cozy rooms. The breakfasts are really good and you will feel spoiled.
Tate house is walking distance to the bus station and everything you need.

This is genuinely the best bed and breakfast i have ever stayed in. Myself and my girlfriend stayed here in May. It was the bank holiday weekend and everywhere else we had tried told us that it was not possible to book for one night. When i spoke to the owner of Tate House not only was he more than happy to accommodate us for one night he was also extremely helpful about telling me about the recommended restaurants. When we arrived we couldn't believe how clean it was, the rooms were spacious and spotless and the styling was crisp and modern. The breakfast the next morning was by far the best i have had at a guest house. I would recommend this guest house to everyone as i believe you will not be disappointed. My only single criticism the entire time we were there would be the owner should probably have his rules on a sheet of paper instead of telling you on arrival. He has a keen eye for detail and coupled with being told rules on arrival you sometimes feel you are making a mess which is slightly uncomfortable.
