I always had so much trouble with finding glasses that would properly fit me. After my consultation in the Sloane Square store I found the perfect glasses for me and they actually fit! I was so pleased with the service at the store. I will definitely keep buying my glasses at Tom Davies.

Having spent 38 years wearing ill fitting glasses I now feel like a new man. There are many little design changes that I asked for and we're suggested that add up to a perfect fit, it's almost uncanny and I feel just a little sad not to have found TD 10 years ago.

Finally I found my perfect optician. I went to the store in Canary Wharf and the customer service was outstanding. I could not have asked for a better consultation. At the end, I received the first pair of glasses that actually suit my face. I just love the frame.

Fantastic frames! As an optician I love being able to offer patients the opportunity to create the PREFECT pair. Your lenses are custom made to your prescription, why settle for a frame that isn't custom made to your tastes and head! I love to bespoke a pair for a customer and have them come in to pick them up and be amazed at fit and colors. Thank you TD for the ability to create such a quality experience.

**UPDATE ** Have a £300 pair of beautiful glasses. The Hinge is of a pretty nifty design; however mine has broken. Having bought into this who bespoke modular idea in the first instance I thought it would be simple to pick up a replacement part. I stripped down the glasses and all I need its a flexible piece of wire to repair my glasses. £150 - yeah thats right £150 ----- Tom Davies you should be disgusted with this level of service



I was contacted by Tom Davies regarding this issue. It was made very clear that this should not have happened and they immediately rectifyed the problem. No they did not just fix the broken piece. They gave me a brand new pair of glasses of the same type. I can only say this is an outstanding level of service. I was seen by the Manager at the Sloane Square shop for a one to one appointment and was made to feel very welcome.

Before leaving I asked to be shown the bespoke options in readiness for my next pair - I was very tempted at the amazing horn pieces that the glasses would be cut from but I thought I would wait at least a few months !!!

limited edition soho frames are lovely very light comfortable to wear disappointed in colours look lovely online but can be much darker in colours but still i will keep buying the td glasses.

Just got my first pair of bespoke glasses and they look and feel just great. Absolutely thrilled to be able to get glasses that fit my big head:)



So why the rating three? Actually more like a 4 minus but still. There are two things. One small and one a bit bigger



1. Nice to be able to follow the production process via email and movie clips. The synch between actual process and emails is however not great. The last two emails/movies came after the optician had called me to inform that they had received the frames. If you are going to do something like this it better work and be synced with actual production - otherwise it seems fake and driven by some basic email engine with preprogrammed times.



2. The glasses were delivered with a nice triangular shaped box. It looked cool but my glasses did not fit inside. I guess it is because I customized them to be wider than normal but surely a company that produces custom frames should be able to supply custom boxes to (or at least have them in a couple of sizes)



So. Thanks for the very nice frames but hope you fix the things that affected the experience negatively.

I waited 5 weeks without a squeak from TD or the optician - what's this about video clips and emails following the process?! - and then the text to say my specs had arrived. An hour off work to go and collect them but discovered they are a totally different colour!



TD Customer Service told the optician that I can't expect the specs to look the same green as their retail sample I bought from but they have produced a photo which is a similar bright blue to the specs provided. I don't wear blue. I didn't buy blue bespoke specs. I bought green bespoke specs which took 5 weeks to come and are the wrong colour! They've offered to make 'him' a new pair of specs - If my name is on my bespoke specs and even on the order they will know I am 'she'. Appalling attention to detail and service. They still don't guarantee the remake will be the green of the sample they supplied and I chose. Do they really expect me to wait a further 5 weeks?!



Be very careful if you chose from their samples as they think it is perfectly reasonable for the final product to be a totally different colour! Not a slightly different marking - but bright blue instead of a 'moss' green!



They said 'I can see in the pictures the frames look different but this is the nature of this particular model. Since the frame has a variation of colours in it, on the original frame it will look thinner and more blue compared to the sample which is instead thicker and more green. If you look at the picture I attached, you can see the original frame looks the same as the one you have received.'



Who buys bespoke glasses from a picture when you have a real sample to try on your face?! What manufacturer of fashion items provides a range of samples and then can't manufacture to match them?



Not a good time to tell me they can't match the sample once I've paid and waited 5 weeks and am off on holiday in two weeks.

I have a lovely pair of bespoke Tom Davies frames that were handmade for me in 2012. They arrived in June 2012, but due to a problem with the finish, were replaced as an exact copy in July 2012. Then earlier this year, having had these frames for under 2 years, the bottom of the frame buckled from the lenses being changed, which should not happen in a high quality frame. Again an exact copy was requested, because of this fault. However when they came back the new frames were different, with thinner acetate and thinner metal sides. Apparently Tom Davies either can not, or will not, provide an exact 'bespoke' copy of my frames now. If I now decide that I would prefer to change to a different frame, then I will have to pay the difference in price between my old frame cost and the new one. I consider this unfair when the frames I love are defective through no fault of mine and all I want is another exact copy of my 'bespoke' frames.. I'm extremely unimpressed with both the quality of the frames and the customer service from Tom Davies.
