Took my boy tonight, first time in a kart he absolutely loved it. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Many thanks. We have now become members and will be regulars.

User

The boys loved it. Went on a family deal. Only 5 of us on the track so they had plenty of room and were able to learn safely.

User

Nice welcome good briefing good afternoon fun .food not bad but good 😊

Just wanted to say a big thank you and well done to Andy and his team for a great visit today. My son and three friends visited for the first time and had a great time. All very friendly, efficient and great customer service. Ola looked after them and he deserves a special mention as a great host. Not sure too many people know about this new track yet but thoroughly recommend it.

User

Basildon - 10/12/2017 Unlimited Karting!

Pretty easy to find on Google maps took us straight there.

There is plenty of parking outside, the building looks amazing with the big image at the entrance!

Walked into the building and was greeted by Rob, nice to see a familiar face as we met him before at West London as a host. We had an amazing time.

Very nice facilities as usual at Teamsport, you go through the hallway and just before you go upstairs there is a nice big window. Which you can view the bottom half of the track. Very nice touch, as you usually can't see the bottom level of the track in some places.

Walk up the stairs and you go into a nice big heated area with a bar, plenty of space for everyone.

The track was a little bit slippery downstairs. But not too slippy. There was still enough grip on the track to get back to full power. You just had to take your time going into the corners. Deciding when to get back down on the power. The top part of the track is very quick, pretty much full power. The tracks a lot of fun and I can see it being a lot quicker when it gets warmer. We will soon be back next year.

Want to thank all the staff that evening Christian, Phil, Lucy, Ola, Holly and Charlotte. Especially the marshals Luke, Mason & Nick as it was very cold that evening and just got colder. A big thank you to Rob looked after us that evening and made our time, very enjoyable. Looking forward to next visit!

Our quickest lap time! (1st visit) - 10/12/2017

Ami - 72kg - 41.598

James - 112kg 42.196

Another great night at Teamsport Karting Basildon. Me and my brother are members and regulars and cant fault the place or staff 1 bit!! Again another fantastic service by our host Danielle, she goes out her way for everyone to help out anyway she can, all the staff and marshals are excellent and manager Phil is great, get yourself down to Basildon Teamsport...... your missing out!!!!

User

A good time had by all at TeamSport Karting for T’s birthday. Special thanks to Laura for sorting our booking changes. We’ll be back.

User

Great night for my sons party of 4

Very friendly staff

I only have one moan

Need more stewards around track as my sons friend had a crash and no one noticed until I mentioned it

Not really good enough

User

Great experience and a enjoyable 50 lap thrill. Loved the 2 level course and fast cars. The only thing I didn't like was the boy racer prick not obeying the rules and bumping people but then again it is basildon.

User

Absolutely loved it there also it was my second visit to Basildon but can’t give 5 stars sadly as there was quite a few drivers that wouldn’t follow yellow flag rules and just decided to ruin the fun, the marshalls did step-up on the 3rd 15 minute session by black flagging the fun drainers but apart from that it was a great night out for my birthday, I will be coming back.

User

The track and gokarts themselves are great. The only down side is that when i went with my boyfriend, the other 10 participants were boys all under the age of 16 who didnt follow any of the rules and were crashing and bumping into everyone. I got T-boned by a young boy who had had about 5 crashes with other participants by our 3 session however he wasnt ever pulled in. Stewards need to be more strict with people who break the rules. Next time, i go i will be going on an adults only session. Seem to be understaffed.

User

They were so understaffed and admitted this to us at the end which was a huge safety issue. This was my first time ever doing something like this so I was quite apprehensive, I was more interested in feeling safe than coming first place or whatever so had no issues with people overtaking me...except for when they purposely bumped me to let me know they were doing it.

I’ve left with a painful left shoulder and only did 10 laps before deciding it was enough.

It’s a shame because I was enjoying it up until the continuous bumps. The marshalls saw some and didn’t use the famous black flag once, there were 3 Marshalls covering the whole track which simply was not enough. Explained this to the receptionists at the end and they just said “yeah we do need to be stricter and knuckle down on that with the marshalls but we are understaffed as well”.

Unless they sort this soon, I can see this venue turning into another situation like Dropzone and Gravity Force - a short lived trend that people grow tired of.

Other than that this would have been a great experience!

User

I went today for a family get together, for the unlimited night. I can’t fault the track or the majority of the staff. I feel the woman downstairs was picking and choosing who to black flag, which made me feel singled out and picked on. Being a young girl I’m not exactly the most dangerous person on track. I felt the black flags were not being given out to the right people. It got to the point I had be given around 3/4 black flags with pit stops, which was wasting my time on track. I would agree this is done as a safety measure and needs to be done, however (keva) sorry if I’ve spelt it wrong was making my experience ruined and I couldn’t enjoy myself as I was looking over my shoulder constantly if she was going to black flag me. This is not the same at lakeside or Rayleigh karting. I feel she was overly cautious and just giving black flags out for no reason near the end, also she looked quite miserable which was making me feel uneasy.

I had to go to the pit stop, to talk to one of the nice young girls, which I apologise to for my behaviour. However I ended up crying to her over how ruined my experience has been. The young girl then explained this to keva over the walky talkies for me to then drive downstairs to see keva laughing at me. This is so rude! You should never laugh at a customer. This is bullying in fact!! The staff need to chill out a bit and watch out for who really is doing things wrong!!! I’d never treat a customer like this! The customer is always right.

I feel the lights are not clear enough straight away and the marshalls don’t give you enough time to notice the colour change. The yellow colour doesn’t stand out enough. And the guy downstairs was unnoticeable, especially when only one Marshall is waving the flag, it was hard to know what was going on. It’s annoyed me that they make you feel like your being a bad driver when nothing you have done is intentional. I’m just there to have a good time, which has ended on a bad note.

I’m sorry to complain but I feel this is unacceptable. I would appreciate a reply if possible.

I’d like to also make a note that all of the other staff were lovely and they deserve credit. Obviously I can’t say the same for keva?

The track has a lot of potential but could be made safer by a few small touches. Maybe these need to be considered before making the guests feel like criminals. I’d also recommend the marshalls swapping stations at this might differentient who they are noticing doing things wrong and might not make people feel picked on. What’s so disappointing is that we was all really looking forward to our visit and have all agreed on these points of not enjoying the experience compared to other karting tracks we have been to as it being too strict in some circumstances and not strict enough in others. It’s almost a bit of favouritism.

I really hope you take these points on board in order to improve as I would like to come back but now I’m a bit put off by the idea.

Many thanks,

Feel free to contact me about this matter.

Been a few times now and today just wasn’t great track is too slippery now this needs addressing

I won’t be visiting until this is sorted

Gutted as I have bought my membership, gloves and my helmet from TeamSport

User

Starting with the good points, great track layout and really wide, meaning plenty of areas to sling one round the outside of competitiors. Surface is slippery downstairs but like everything, it adds to the fun and allows you to develop your lines throughout your session.

Karts are new although, like all these types of venues, there’s always a couple of duds which unfortunately, one of our group found.

Now for the issue, if anyone’s had the opportunity to deal with the arrogant manager by the name of Andy (older guy with white hair) you will know what’s coming. I have been informed he manages both Harlow and Basildon.

This employee has about as much customer service as a prison guard and to be frank, he needs a lot of training or shouldn’t be in a customer service role!

We booked 2 lots of 2 x 15 minute sessions and we did not receive this.

Upon booking in to our sessions, apparently according to Andy, I should have said I’m here to partake in my 2 slots not 2 sessions..... (be sure to buy Andy’s teamsport dictionary when booking).

So technically, according to Andy, we missed them despite both bookings being under my name and address and me saying we are here for 2 lots of 2 sessions at the front desk.

Andy persistently told me why didn’t I say anything sooner.... Let me put you in the picture, there were 2 races between each of our races, so once we had done our second race and the next group had gone out, I spoke to a young Marshall and asked when our next race would be which is when the confusion started.

Apparently, from us coming in and getting our helmets off isn’t soon enough....

I’ve been to a lot of tracks round the UK and to be told it was basically my fault that I wasn’t on top of their booking system and I should have been more on top of questioning the organisation at the venue was laughable. From booking in, as far as I’m concerned, that’s it and time to enjoy my sessions, sorry my fault again, slots!!!

The worst bit about the whole thing is the smirk on Andy’s face, similar to a person saying I don’t care, you’re holding me up.

Once we had established I needed to purchase Andy’s teamsport dictionary of phrases, we got handed over to the very helpful Robbie, who would be the only reason I’d look at giving it a try in the future.

We spoke to at least 4-5 fellow employees of Teamsport Basildon all of which informed me of ‘problems’ they are all having with Andy and couldn’t believe the manner which he spoke to us with.

Congratulations to Andy on ruining our Christmas party and I look forward to speaking with a Teamsport head office in the morning. Merry Christmas!!

User

Great track but appalling customer service from the so called manager Andy. It was meant to be an xmas treat for friends that can’t meet up very often and we booked and paid for 2 lots 2X15 min drives (1hr) and this was confirmed on arrival.

We had our first 15min drive but then without any communication from staff we had to wait for two more sessions to be completed before we had another drive. After the second drive I pointed out there was an issue with my kart (#13 funnily enough) to which the reply was laughter and “yeah that kart is rubbish!

We then waited in the bar as we presumed the same procedure would still be used and we would drive again after two races had passed. But NO, due to THEIR poor organisation and poor systems they cancelled our slots and sold them to someone else. Not only that the “manager” Andy proceeded to tell us it was our fault as we hadn’t used the correct terminology (all whilst smirking at us all). All he offered was a 3hour wait until he “may be able” to fit us in or credit so we could return another time to drive (which we already explained may not be possible as one of the group was being deployed, or we could return and drive individually. (Yeah great fun!)

I understand mistakes can happen but it’s how you then deal with it that counts. Be careful how you check in and don’t expect any help from the manager, the other staff are way more understanding but can only do what they are allowed to do.
