It's been slightly less than a month since the festival closed, and we're still dreaming about your work. A cluster of responses to the pieces at #TF18 from two of the TF team - Rosie Mills Eckmire and Robert William. With more coming soon.

Tempting Failure is a needed antidote in an ever increasing commercial landscape for London artists. The concept of expressing trauma through performance while gently holding the space for artists and participants creates a therapeutic interaction that heals and informs. This year they added a Well-Being section and we shared our Kirtan: Sound Healing, it was a profound 3 sessions for us as facilitators and participants expressed deep release, connection and healing. Well done to a dedicated visionary team.

TF18 has been one of the best highlights of my year so far. You've given me a chance to show my work, inspired me and blown my mind with the work that I saw <3 It's a beautiful community of artists.

User

TF walks that fine line between friendly and accessible and showing work of real risk. It's loud and quiet, sometimes repulsive, but never crass. There is real artistic engagement and community surrounding it.

User

TF is one of few performance art/noise festivals any where today that elegantly straddles the terrains of the bold, profound, arresting, and challenging, with the discreet, subtle, tender, and accessible, delivered with the embrace of a 'family' warm spirit.

User

Such an amazing festival to be a part of, every event I could attend left me inspired and energized. So much tenderness, rawness and honest vulnerability. Thank you for creating this opportunity for artist to meet and share their work.

User

Of course I have been aware of Tempting Failure's reputation for "edgy" performance but I was singularly unversed in spectating or participating with the growing spectrum of their festival - by now a must see event, I freely admit underestimating their ability to connect and engage with the broader community, I assumed they were more about shock and extreme spectacle.(they can still shock),(but they give fair warning).

The range and impact of the contributing artists, the know how/ can do attitude of the friendly technical and administrative staff and the sheer power of Performance-Making on the public domain is very uplifting to witness.

The workshops, seminars and master classes provided excellent opportunities for everyone to get involved, learn and contribute to an essential vibrant conversation.

User

It was a great honor and delight to be part of this amazing festival. Very rarely you find such a motivated and loving crew. It gave me the possibility to see some great new work and meet some brilliant artists. Nothing but LOVE and RESPECT ❤️

User

Incredible performances.

User

I applied to work at Tempting Failure because I wished to get experience in a professional festival environment and to see and meet some exciting art and artists. I could not of imagined how spectacularly both of these expectations would be blown out of the water by my actual experience working in TF18.

The organisers were friendly, professional and fantastic to work with, as were every other member of the team. Everyone carried out their roles above and beyond and I can honestly say it was one of the best working experiences I have had. As not the most experienced member of the crew everyone was resoundingly patient with me and went the extra mile in teaching me new industry skills that will help me with my future employment.

The artists and curation were all fantastic and offered amazing performances that will stay with me. The ability to interact with and meet the artists was unforgettable and a real unique and amazing draw.

All in all my experience with TF was absolutely fantastic and I would recommend anyone get involved or attend when it returns.
