Hull's Headscarf Heroes goes out next Monday, 5th February 2018, 9pm, BBC Four (Testimony Films 1 x 60 mins)
The epic story of Hull’s Triple Trawler tragedy fifty years ago in early 1968, when 58 deep sea fishermen lost their lives and the extraordinary protest by local women who fought for greater safety at sea.

User

Hello, We are making a BBC4 documentary to mark the 50th anniversary of the loss of three Hull trawlers in 1968, the St Romanus, the Kingston Peridot and the Ross Cleveland. The film will pay tribute to those who lost their lives on the trawlers as well as the six thousand Hull men who have lost their lives at sea over the years. It will also share the story of the Hull women who campaigned successfully for new maritime safety legislation. We are looking to speak to anyone wh...o was either involved or remembers the silent march down Hull’s famous Hessle Road led by Lillian Bilocca, the protest at St. Andrew’s Dock to stop trawlers leaving without a radio operator or the various meetings held in Hull in 1968. It would be great to hear what it was like from the people involved. Please do email, call or respond if you have any stories or information you'd like to share. My email address is emily.sivyer@testimonyfilms.com or the number here is 0117 9258589. All best wishes, Emily

To mark the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in private, CONVICTED FOR LOVE tells the dramatic and emotional story of four gay men who fell foul of Britain’s homophobic laws. The government’s 2017 Turing’s Law promises a pardon and an apology for men like these, hounded for their homosexuality. But this film reveals that for many of them, the injustice continues.

DO YOU HAVE MEMORIES OF PRINCESS DIANA IN WALES FOR NEW BBC WALES DOCUMENTARY? Testimony Films, a documentary company are researching a new BBC Wales film about the life and death of Diana, The Princess of Wales to mark the 20th anniversary of her death in August this year. The film will tell the story of her relationship with the people of Wales. She visited Wales many times, including her famous trip with Prince Charles in 1981. She was also involved with many Welsh chariti...es and organisations. Her tragic death was commemorated by thousands of people across Wales. For many, she was the People's Princess. We would like to hear from anyone with a story to tell about Diana- about meeting her on a Royal visit, or photographing and filming her. We’re interested in stories of watching the Royal Wedding and holding a street party to celebrate it. We’re interested in speaking to anyone who was a great fan of Diana and who was inspired by her ideas, her charity work and her fashion sense- and who identified closely with her when she went through her separation and divorce. We’re also interested in hearing from people who were deeply affected by her tragic death. If you or someone you know has memories or a story to tell, we would love to hear from you. You can contact Lizi or Emily via email: lizi.cosslett@testimonyfilms.com or emily.sivyer@testimonyfilms.com or by phone 0117 925 8589. CHANNEL 4 DOCUMENTARY: WERE YOU ARRESTED FOR BEING GAY?
Are you one of the 15000 men convicted of consensual gay sex offences who can apply for a pardon to have your criminal records cleared?
How has your conviction affected your life?
... If you were over 16 and your crime did not involve sexual activity in a public lavatory then your record could be cleared.
Were you convicted or cautioned for having consensual sex with someone over 16, for 'gross indecency' or for loitering or frequenting with intent?
Are you in the process of clearing or have you cleared your criminal record? We want to show how unjust these convictions were.
