Nestled in the heart of Southgate, lies Thalassa Seafood Restaurant.
Originating from generations of restaurateurs in the UK, Cyprus and Italy, a very clear mission was established from day one. To offer a dining experience to our guests taking them on a journey through an array of seafood dishes, with a warm, personal and friendly service, and in the spirit of traditional Mediterranean culture, alongside live entertainment to engage all senses.
With all our produce freshly sourced daily by our head chefs, we ensure we deliver only the best quality and variety of seafood and meat. Thalassa Seafood Restaurant is by far the best we visited in London. The food is always good, the price is right and the staff very friendly.
Service and Staff were friendly oysters were lovely and the catch me if you can meal was amazing but I couldn't finish it !!
My favourite restaurant! I eat there at least once a week! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Kids love the cod and chips! Top chef always spot on with our food, well done Thalassa �
Just had yet another wonderful meal here. Fitted us in even though we hadn't booked & they had Old Skool Night and were booked up! Even allowed me to have my favourite meal even though it wasn't on the menu. Pity I couldn't stay for the music but definitely next time. Great service. Great food!!
I went for lunch with my boyfriend and we both agree that the food was very tasty( I had the Ocean friends and he had the Seafood linguine), also very friendly staff and lovely relaxing atmosphere. They also do a very reasonable set menu! Definitely a place to visit!
I was taken to this restaurant on a first date, as we walked In the first thing tha struck me was the atmosphere it was electric , then I heard singing and noticed it was Twins, how fabulous, they sang beautifully, the was also fantastic as was the date, as a singer myself I had to join them, it was fab, will go again and again, truly a lovely evening. Xx
I had a great lunch in this restaurant today! The cooking is so forward-looking with imaginative ideas, introducing an innovative interpretation of the sea food culture. Fresh ingredients, distinct flavours, generous portions all combined to a clean nice place with a very lovely staff!
Gorgeous quality seafood & steak (And lamb & pork & chicken & veggie dishes too)!
I love the food in this restaurant, for prices you would not believe possible in London for the outstanding quality. I really like the friendly buzz and atmosphere of the event nights too, definitely recommend!

As a big foodie and always on the look out for the best dining experiences in town, Thalassa certainly exceeded my expectations. The lobster was tender and juicy and the steak was cooked to perfection. A great local dining experience at incredible value, delicious food and fun and lively entertainment. A must try their is their Surf n Turf along with Cypriot style fries and we thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment on Saturday night by MICHAELA!
Amazing place, superb service, fantastic atmosphere, friendly & professional staff! Fresh seafood to die for!! Great choice, excellent presentation and above all top quality food with loads to choose from. Also good value for money. Can't wait to go back again! Highly recommended!
Absolutely first class food at very reasonable prices. Not only is there a great variety of choice, but also you can simply create your own order - just ask the chef for suggestions.
A very rare night out with hubby and was looking forward to it. The service was good, friendly and attentive staff. However the food was extremely disappointing. The grilled fish was over cooked and the chips soggy and oily. I asked for the chips to be replaced, and the new ones were exactly the same, they tasted awful! I left the chips and managed to eat some of the fish.
It was a night we were looking forward to, so we didn't make a fuss but I think seeing most of the food left on my plate said it all!! Very, very disappointing food !
Unfriendly waiter! Check ur bill because they added extra food that I didn't order!! The rice was half cooked. The waitress said they will tell the chef and they never got back to me or even apologise for it! We wasn't satisfied at all. I felt sick cause of that undercooked rice!! I will never go back again!!
I came in here on Mothers Day for the first time, in a long time and we felt like we had a pretty poor experience.
After the initial order of drinks, not once did a waitperson ask if we wanted another. Once we had finished the relevant courses it felt like we had to wait close to 20 minutes before the staff cleared the plates off of the table, and you had to wait about the same amount of time for the next course to arrive. Of which the meat dishes ended up coming out cold (probably because they were out for so long). I also spotted another table where they had their card down and ready to pay for about 20 minutes.
The problem seems to stem from management decisions, you don't have an allocated waitperson on days they are busy (the lady we complained to admitted this is a problem), so they don't feel at all responsible for your table and you have no idea who is looking after you. The excuse given was that they were busy, but in my book that's no excuse, if you have four sittings in an evening and expect to be busy, then you should hire enough staff to make sure that you can accommodate your customers to an adequate standard.
The only reason why I gave this place two stars instead of one was certainly not due to ambience (you can't hear yourself talk) but due to some of the food being seasoned nicely, in particular the chicken (albeit cold) and some of the fish, and the waiting staff wishing all the Mums a Happy Mothers Day.
To sum up, I won't be coming back here again, at least not on what I'd expect to be a busy day.
If you want your seafood to taste like like elastic band and be cooked from frozen then this is the place for you; old fish that simply was a mission to chew on and not even an apology or an offer for a drink when you bring this to their attention; first and last time here ; absolute disgrace
