Stayed two nights for a birthday. Nice dinner and stay, nothing overly fancy but good food and nice environment

The Abbey Hotel and Country Club offers great facilities for both golfers and those looking for a spa break.

Food served in their Bramblings Restaurant is superb, particularly at dinner where the service is also first class and well up to the Abbey's Four Star status.

The accommodation proved somewhat less up market however, both our room and en-suite being in desperate need of refurbishment. Paying £104 a night one does not expect a broken room safe, I'll fitting window allowing a howling gale through all night, tatty wall heater and a bathroom floor and door very obviously in need of replacement.

I would return here to use the restaurant in the evening, but the chaotic Sunday breakfast with a 40 minute wait for bacon (breakfast is not included in the room rate) along with the condition of the room, would put me off of staying here again.

At the Abbey hotel I found the staff to be very welcoming. The swimming room was amazing, they provided a luxury swimming pool and relaxing Jacuzzi. You could also enjoy a beautiful scene of the golf course while having a refreshing drink from the bar.

Delicious Sunday lunch. Great selection. Reasonable prices. Staff attentive and friendly. First time here will certainly visit again when we're in the vicinity.

Member of a large celebratory party... On arrival, room spacious and well appointed. Staff pleasant.
The private room for the party was laid out perfectly. The staff excellent, the maitre d exceptional.
The meal, three courses, was good.
Our 'own' bar staffed by two pleasant, efficient youngsters kept us well 'oiled'.
Why not 5☆s , well our room was very near the reception and we could hear what was going on there, and we were woken a number of times, in the 'wee' hours. A sound insulation issue? .

We had a fantastic time at the Abbey Hotel. We were attending a wedding. The staff were helpful and we received fast service during the wedding breakfast and at the bar. There are beautiful views over the golf course and the function rooms for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast over looked the course also.

Visited Dublin from the states and spent a night here. Location is great and within walking distance from a ton of major hot spots. The rooms were clean and small but nice. There's a quaint pub on site for a quick bite or pint.

Staying in an executive room and it feels very special. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is lovely. Swimmingly pool is really nice.

Nice hotel with a shallow pool (1.3m), jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Pub and restaurant on site, meal in the later was nice although carb-heavy. Service was very good and accommodating for individual requests. If you are not a big eater then order from the kids menu, the burgers and the portion of pasta was massive, same size as a large adult portion.
Check pool opening times for kids, it's not open before 10 on Sunday in case you need to leave early.
