Just to confirm that the evening tuition is carrying on Tuesdays with Becky or Laura, Wednesday with Laura and Lisa and Thursdays with Katie. Saturday will be with Laura and Becky and the pony club will run on 2 Saturdays a month, 1 group for the younger children and 1 for the elders. (Pony club days will be confirmed by this Saturday). Sundays from 28th April will be a day of rest. We will be opening up another Saturday session for those wishing to move from the Sunday. We apologise for any inconvenience and value your custom. Dear Clients of Acorn Centre,
I am writing this to inform you that the Riding School part of the Centre, is closing from the end of June. As I move towards my retirement and after very serious health issues, I wish to focus on those things most dear to me. The Seeds of Change the organisation that I Co-founded some years ago is still very close to my heart and it is increasing in its development working in the Adult mental health field and this work is facilitated more and... more at the Centre. Going forwards now, I wish this to take a priority.
Horses need "time out” too, and some of them are also coming up towards their retirement!
The Centre is closed on Sundays from 28th April so that the horses can have a resting time. Lisa, Katy and Becky Green are still Coaching their evening sessions and Pony Club will continue on alternate Saturdays until the Summer.
Please do contact us for more information. I do not want anyone to feel concerned or anxious about the changes a foot and we will do our upmost to support and guide our existing and most loyal clients.
There is an opportunity to part share/Loan some of the Acorn Herd and if you are interested in this scheme, please apply to us in writing for more information. Becky Green or myself will respond to your enquiry in a timely way.
Clinics and workshops and ‘Breathing Space” therapy sessions are planned from Summer onwards

This place is truly amazing came here years ago with school and done the seeds of change programme, Rode mickey every week without fail, Amy and Katherine were amazing, doesnt just help with how to take care of horses helps you with cooking skills and gardening, made an amazing planter there, Even done some goat care. Would highly recommend this place to everyone.

This is a magical place with a real sense of community, excellent and knowledgeable staff and a friendly atmosphere, nice clean facilities and attentive horses all wrapped up in countryside of exceptional beauty. What a treasure, one of my favourite places to be. Thanks Acorn Team xxx

Thank you so much to everyone at the acorn centre for giving my daughter the 'best birthday party ever'! She had a fantastic time and all of her friends, even the nervous first time riders loved it! The room was beautifully decorated and was so warm and cosy, everything was perfect. We love coming over to see you all, it's such a friendly place, thank you for helping us to make such fun memories. �

Thank you so much for my daughter’s amazing 6th birthday party yesterday.

All the staff were so wonderful with the children especially with most of the group being beginners you really helped them feel at ease and enjoy themselves.

The children loved the pony games then the grooming and I loved how it wasn’t rushed.

Big thanks to Debbie as well for all the food it was great.

Would definitely recommend parties it here, thank you all for making my daughter’s birthday so wonderful!

So glad we chose to come here for lessons most certainly will be back.

My niece had her fifth birthday party at the equestrian centre on Sunday 8th October. The staff were brilliant and so good with the young children, whilst the ponies rode were all wonderfully behaved and obviously very well cared for. There was a good mix of activities and each child got a birthday rosette, which was a really nice touch. The children had their cake and party food in a very clean and comfortable mobile unit after the activities had finished and were allowed to play afterwards. I didn’t arrange the party itself but as an observer, I was completely impressed by what I saw and would not hesitate to recommend the centre to others.

My girls have had a fabulous experience at pony camp this week, they have thoroughly enjoyed it and I was so impressed with the show. Huge thanks to the Acorn team for all their hard work and dedication.

My daughther started here a couple of weeks ago,she has already moved up in to a higher group😊All the staff are very friendly and polite,her favourite horse is rainbow😊Her favourite teacher is Alex so far,they are very hands on with there students would highly recommend this place,if you was wanting to learn to ride😊Samantha really enjoys it and never seen her smile so much 5star

My daughter has been coming here for about 18 months and adores this place. She is so much more confident and can be herself. She had her birthday party there this weekend. She wouldn't have wanted to have it anywhere else. All the staff are amazing and put up with my random 101 questions. My Aunt and I had a little beginners session with Charlie. We were complete novices but after an hour I'm feel I can compete at the Olympics. I went with the intention of having a go but I loved it so much I've booked some lessons. Tokyo 2020 here I come.

It’s been 18months since my last review and I’m pleased to say I have improved. ALOT. Whilst I am not quite Olympic standard, I think the Acorn Staff will agree that I would win Gold in humour and possibly most improved. Despite my bravado I was quite afraid of horses but all the staff at Acorn have not only helped me to learn to love their gentle giants but I can now actually ride them. Competently. I can now walk, trot and canter (if I’m feeling brave), and jump (it’s a big step over the pole but it counts). The point is, today I was able to enjoy some beautiful scenery, on an even more beautiful horse because the Acorn staff believed that I could. I might not make it to the Olympics but I have enjoyed every attempt at getting closer to Tokyo 2020.

I was/am exstreamly happy with my experience with these guys, I have had many judgements on my weight n have found it very difficult to find a place we're they are nice enough to not judge me or where they are not rude about me i was causus to say the least as it turned out i was within there weight limit I have only had one lesson at this school n have been very happy with the staff, horses, facilities n the lesson the teacher was outstanding n helped me understand very well I did not feel patronised once even if i knew something she asked or told me n i wad comftable enough to ask what i did not kmow i came out laughing with a beeming smile will definitely be riding here again buzzing for my next lesson. Highly recommended..x

I was looking for a riding lesson for my nieces and nephew as a Christmas present. Ages 3, 5 and 5, none with any riding experience. Managed to book in on the 30th December for all three of them. Instructors were really friendly and great with the kids, kept them entertained for 3/4 hour and gave them a great experience both in school and out on a mini hack. Thank you very much, they loved it!

I love it at this stables. I am a super nervous rider and Katherine brought me back to riding, followed by Emily then Amy. Group lessons are intimate and friendly. The horses are pretty amazing and friendly. The yard always seems spotless and its in a brilliant location. I have had a break for 2 months but I've severely missed the riding but also the friends I've made along my journey!!! Can't wait to get back into the saddle - preferably Mickeys

I have been going to the Acorn since it opened and i think since i have been riding which is a long time now it is one of the best places to ride. They are all so nice and the horses and ponies are wonderful. They look after you so well and great places to ride. I always look forward in going.

I found out about this place after hearing their hacks are more scenic so I decided to give it a try. All were very beautiful and worth a look, but I've also had lessons which has helped me improve my riding. The staff are really friendly, funny and knowledgable giving me the reason to return at any opportunity available.

The most memorable moment there for me was doing the pub hack 3 weeks ago which was outstanding, especially in the end where we stopped at The White Horse pub whilst I was on a white horse (Chesney!)

First lesson today at this lovely riding establishment :-) My instructor was the most charming and funny, but also highly professional Charlie Brown. I can honestly say that I haven't had so much fun in years! A very warm and welcoming riding centre that caters for all abilities. Set in a beautiful location with easy access and most importantly excellent care of all the horses! Super staff and facilities. Ben Brown the Manager is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Been having lessons with kelly and Charlie for only three months and I’m loving it! today I had a great lesson with Ben and cantered even bareback � the horses a well cared for stables clean and instructors really easy to get on with always there to help you
