We've stayed on the Albatross many times over the years with friends and family, all ages. Always a warm welcome and a fantastic breakfast. Excellent value, great location and lots of fun. Thanks Captain Ton and crew.

We took 7 kids between 3 mums and had an amazing stay on the boat. The kids were entranced and loved having the boat to themselves in the morning - and the chocolate and double cream pancakes! The live music was fab and a bonus to sit on deck with entertainment after putting the kids down. Staff were wonderful and weather brilliant to enjoy Wells beach.

We stumbled across this unique restaurant by changed and went back the following night. It is Fantastic to have delicious dinner on the deck or down below (we did both). On our second night we had 4 dogs in tow and the staff made us feel so welcome. Truly a great place, super friendly staff and local Crab on the menu, perfect!

Visited for the first time and loved the experience. Staff were very friendly, it felt like being welcomed into their home. They were very flexible and helpful while we waited for the youngest member of the family to wake up and join us and we had interesting conversations with them (in a variety of languages) while we enjoyed a drink and some pancakes. It was great to meet you and I hope we can visit again!

The Albatross is my main reason for going to Wells. My friend and I go there regularly for the great atmosphere, the music, and the great pancakes. Goats cheese and mozzarella is my favourite. It's a must if you visit wells. Boat has an interesting history too.

The Albatros would be it!!

What a wonderful, friendly, quirky place to stay! We only wish we could have stayed longer.

From the navigation maps, original nautical features to the range of board games available, every elelment of The Albatros added to the whole experience and atmosphere. Even after we arrived home we were prompted to look up a history of early blues music due to the quirky CD player in the galley/bar.

If you are looking for mod cons like TV and internet, this place is not for you. Instead of the TV, we played dominos, without internet we redisciovered the art of socialising with fellow residents and friendly staff. The fry up was excellent and we enjoyed this at our leisure on the deck in the morning sun due to the flexibility of no time scales or deadlines that you may experience in other B&B's.

We came away feeling we had bought an experience and not simply bought somewhere to stay. We are already planning our return and would recommend this to anyone.....Who needs Travelodge when you have The Albatros!!!

I had the most fabulous birthday lunch on the Albatross yesterday. I loved how tables were sloped and stairs were steep. This added to the charm of the place. The staff are so friendly and helpful and so very accommodating. And wow the food was just amazing! I really cannot wait to go again!!! I'm so grateful to my friend for taking us there. What a gem of a place!!!

I had been told about the special place plenty of times but hadn't make it there until today.

Monday 15th of August

I drove from Cambridge with my partner David he and I are both chefs.

Well I was for 7 years and he still is and the food was just brilliant.

The prawn salad was to die for.

So fresh.

And such a beautiful setting.

It was definitely worth the 2 hour drive for sure we will return at some point.

Well done.

I booked this to take my girlfriend out for pancakes night this year. They were very helpful via email communications in booking and sending menu. And answering questions re parking. I gave this 5 star as the pancakes where amazing but my girlfriend did end up with chocolate on her desert pizza but it was yummy all the same.

Also wrap up there is no Heating on the boat and it looks closed on the approach. But once inside this is a truly unique place and I feel more should be done to advertise / promote this little gem. It wax quite and should of been sold out on pancake night.

We will definitely be visiting again but this time in summer :)

I live in

Swaffham and yesterday was my birthday . My daughter and granddaughter gave me surprised visit .we went to Wells and had meal on board the Albatros. It was lovely meal. Staff very helpful always go there.

Had such a good time on Tuesday, relaxing, drinking a lovely Sauvignon Blanc and the kids catching 73 crabs off the side of the boat. The kids were inspired to draw some pictures of the boat which we took back on Friday for another lovely lunch. The service was excellent and all the staff so friendly. A must if you visit Wells!

Great evening and stay on the Albatross. Staff were lovely and the pancakes excellent (great Dutch chef). Live music from RSJ made Saturday night perfect. Brilliant atmosphere.

Just make sure you check your booking before arriving especially if booked via the website.....

User

Fantastic, quirky little place for a wonderful Dutch pancake. We even had a lovely man singing traditional folk songs and playing his guitar. Highly recommended be careful going down the very steep steps to the indoor seating area. We can't wait to get back during the summer so we can sit on the top deck

Came here twice last week. The first was in the evening with my sister-in-law. It was wonderful to sit on deck, enjoy a bottle of prosecco and we are the garlic prawns special. They were amazing! The only thing that could've made it perfect was blankets to keep us warm when the sun had gone down! The second time was the next day for lunch with our family. The savoury pancakes were delicious. And the man who took our order very kindly advised us against ordering 2 omelettes for the kids as one would be big enough. And he was right! Great device, great location, great food. Would go back in a heartbeat!

User

Absolutely amazing little gem. Great local draught beer straight from the keg, deliciously made pancakes (I had the chorizo, basil and mozzarella) and as for Captain Tons Oma's apple cake??? Next level of dessert. Well worth the 90mile round trip.

User

A unique experience in a very relaxed atmosphere. Choice of eating on deck if weather permits or venturing below to enjoy some beautiful prepared food. Famous for pancakes which are both filling and extremely tasty. The people working on board the Albatros are very polite and professional.

User

Two great nights of live music. A real friendly, chilled atmosphere. Definitely be back. Be great if some money could be spent on tidying up the outside but doesn't spoil an overall fantastic experience. Thanks x

User

Just went for for some lunch. The set up is rather quirky and not that easy to get on board for the less abled bodied. Level of customer service is basic but friendly.

The food is fantastic, we had a prawn salad and a dressed crab salad off the specials menu; both were absolutely delicious and fantastic value, only down side is that I was too full to try one of their Dutch pancakes! Maybe next time as would definitely go back...

Every time we go to Wells we always go on the Albatross. Last Sunday was lovely chilling out listening to folky music. A shame one of us had to drive home or we would have stopped through the night. One day I will try the pancakes they look so yummy.
