What an amazing place. The decor and atmosphere where great, the cocktails tasted absolutely fantastic and were so original - we had the delicious meringue topped Key Lime Pie, the tasty smoking Colour Changing One and the tasty Cameral Rum (complete with fire)

This place is so amazing. The cocktails are delish and food is super too. This place makes one feel good in the knickers. A customer for life here. ’┐Į’┐Į

The cocktails here are fantastic, and so are the appetizers. IŌĆÖve visited here more than once and IŌĆÖve been very impressed with the quality of the beverages and the atmosphere. The cocktail menu is extensive and the staff know exactly how to make each drink.

Phenomenal place with great food and the finest cocktails. Especially the key lime pie and battenberg ones! Will be visiting again very soon.

I was watching the staff handling three orders of multiple drinks and not forgetting a thing, helping each other with orders - great teamwork! Utter madness and barely any room as it was Maundy Thursday evening but such a great experience!

I enjoyed the evening out with my dear friend and we had a few cocktails. Decided to try the good, well I am a celiac and that means gluten free only. They understand the risks and went out of their way to provide us an excellent set of meals catering for our individual needs. But even if you donŌĆÖt want good the cocktails are to die for and the staff are great. Be prepared to be in amongst a lot of others who also love the place but the staff make sure your wait is minimal. A really great visit and first time at the Alchemist ’┐Į

Absolutely love this place.

The food was delicious, the drinks were spectacular and we received amazing service from Genevieve.

Waited an hour to get served but what can you do?! Not helped by people sitting at the bar. But over all, good atmosphere, music and bar staff were great to watch. Interesting drinks served in fun and quirky ways. Would go back!

The drinks were amazing. Our main waitress was lovely, but a second who brought over food did not put our drinks order through. So we waited 30 minutes for that to be sorted.



Would be nice if the staff were more attentive generally.

Gorgeous venue and delicious fun cocktails. Only went in for a couple of drinks before having Sunday lunch elsewhere so it was quiet when we arrived. Liked the bar area and the barman was helpful, bar snacks were good - only thing IŌĆÖd change is that IŌĆÖd like table service to be offered rather than having to go to the bar each time. TheyŌĆÖd probably sell more if they offered this too!

Atmosphere was great, cocktail were great once we got served, very busy Saturday night. Food was tasty and served prompt, needed a little sign language to help place orders at bar and table because the music was so loud, would have had 5 stars if I could have heard what the staff were saying, music could be a little quieter upstairs whilst eating. Will be returning.

We took my daughter and a few of her friends for cocktails early evening on Sunday as it was her 20th birthday. The bar area is quite nice, busy, but we managed to get a table. The cocktails were ok, a bit of dry ice and changing colour, but I have had better. Also the service was very slow, certainly not enough bar staff working so ordering drinks took quite a while and a bit of a drag having to keep getting up to go to the bar; we were surprised there wasn't table service. Some interaction from the staff would have been good too with a few recommendations for cocktails but there was none - the place lacked personality, we could have been in any bar in London. I don't think we will be rushing back in a hurry.

I came here yesterday afternoon to try some of there talked about cocktails. We walked in and no one was there to greet us so we just sat at the nearest table by the bar we saw. Then I realised that the lady who was meant to be at the door greeting customers was sat on the other side of the room with a customer or work colleague. Not a good look. The cocktails were good though can't complain there.

Went here on Saturday and was over charged by ┬Ż15 when we told the bar man he didnŌĆÖt even apologise and they charge service charge on orders over ┬Ż50??? What a joke and there is nothing anywhere saying they charge service charge. WonŌĆÖt be going back again

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this email as I visited the Bevis Marks restaurant for a birthday celebration on Saturday 12th May and was disgusted with the service from begging to end and felt embarrassed to have chosen this location for such a special birthday occasion. I have visited the Alchemist on Bevis Marks a number of times and know that this is not of the usual standard!

Unfortunately we were 10 minutes late to the booking due to traffic so to ensure the restaurant was made aware we call ahead and was very abruptly told "well that will be coming out of your reservation time". This automatically made us feel under pressure, very uneasy and not a great way to start the experience. Once we arrived the maitre d made us aware that the table wasn't ready and would only be 5 minutes and to get a drink from the bar. We was then asked to remove ourselves from the bar area as it was reserved for a private party even though we was waiting for drinks that had already been ordered and in the process of being made, a member of staff was standing over us as if we was not trusted to move away from the area which was not a pleasant experience.

Finally after waiting 25 minutes we was directed to our table and was advised that with the one hour that we had left until we had to be at our next location we would be able to get a two course meal as there would be sufficient time. Subsequently there wasn't enough time as after our starters arrived and 15 minutes before we had to leave our main course still hadn't been served. The staff weren't offering any reassurance that our food was on the way or wouldn't be long after we had asked numerous times. 5 minutes before we had to leave a manager finally came to the table and told us that there was no fish fingers so at this point one of the guests was so frustrated she cancelled her order completely and did not get to enjoy an evening meal and went hungry! The main meals that did arrive were of a shocking quality the steak was not cooked correctly, the chips were cold and salad wilted.

We mentioned prior to the booking that it was a birthday celebration and they said that they would organise for a birthday drink or cake to be served on the evening. When we arrived we reminded the waiting staff of this and was told not a problem and that it would be organised yet it never arrived!

Overall the service we experienced was completely unaccepted and I will defiantly not be recommending the alchemist to anybody in the future.

I will look forward to your speedy response with an explanation as to why the service we received was so poor.

I would just like to say that I think your customer service is disgusting. My friend booked a table for ten people here for tonight and because of your disorganisation and incompetency weŌĆÖve been left without anywhere to go on her birthday. She was treat horrifically by one of your members of staff who shouted at her down the phone and left feeling frustrated, upset and angry on her birthday. You donŌĆÖt deserve the money that ten of us were going to spend there tonight. Completely outrageous service. I hope that youŌĆÖre happy with yourselves, youŌĆÖve lost what wouldŌĆÖve been ten happy customers

Had late lunch/early dinner there, food was not good. I ordered chicken ramen, was asked how spicy I said very. When it came it was luke warm at best with no taste, very bland with zero spice. My daughter had Cajun chicken fajitas, again not very hot and the chicken was so tough and chewy, over cooked. Probably wonŌĆÖt eat there again.

Got there at 12:30 to be told we have to leave in 15 minutes. We traveled 45minutes to have a few cocktails when the website SPECIFICALLY said it shuts at 2. It was pouring with rain and security wouldnŌĆÖt even let anyone stand in the porch area while we waited for our cab. The tall African security guard who said his name was Patrick was harassing us constantly to leave and told at least 15 of us who to get out and stand in the rain because he needs to catch the bus. There was only 4 of us in our group and the rest were couples. I definitely would not go back. Even the barmen looked miserable!
