Wow, recommended to us on the tram so popped in to finish off our evening. Staff were fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely. How can I describe the cocktails.... The drama that comes with each cocktail is mesmerising, I could have sat and watched for ages. Perfect end to a perfect night.
Went there with a friend on 8/5/18
We found the staff very helpful and very friendly. My friend and I really enjoyed our food and the attentiveness of all the staff. We were sat on the terrace until unfortunately it started to rain in which we sat at the bar (and indulged in quite a few! Cocktails) and where we we pleasantly served by at first 2 ladies apologies but I only remember one name which was Rachel... then a staff change of 2 very polite guys. My friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely return soon
Visited yesterday afternoon with my family. Was lucky enough to get a table outside; fab atmosphere - like being on holiday! - great drinks selection, friendly staff and lovely food. Couldn't fault it. Excellent!
Me and my partner went here after the Man United Vs Liverpool game and we will definatly Be back again. We travelled from East Sussex and I’d researched cocktail places near the stadium. We were not disappointed at all... some people may find it quite expensive with the lady Marmalade(which I would recommend) being around £8-£9. That sounds a lot but the science behind it is so much fun!! Plus the bar staff are very happy to speak to you about the cocktails and they definatly know there stuff! This made our weekend!! And we’ll be planning a return trip soon.- Thankyou
Lovely food & lovely location. We were able to get a table outside in the sun overlooking the water, was brilliant. Nice little outside bar too but, it does get very busy. Customer service is absolutely fantastic. One of our meals wasn't quite right & we mentioned it to the waitress. The manager came over within minutes and couldn't have been nicer. Loads of choice on the menu too. Great place to spend an afternoon/evening, definitely recommend it.
I walked in early afternoon on Easter Day stood at bar got served straight away ordered my cocktail by a friendly member of bar staff plenty of seating nice ambience my favourite cocktail bar made to feel welcome happy times at the Alchemist Salford Quays
Great place. We visited on Sunday 15th April to Celebrate our daughters 18th Birthday. Staff friendly and helpful. Our waitress was wonderful, nothing too much trouble. Food is fabulous. Only negative would be the cost of the drinks. The cocktails were great and fun to order though a little bit on the expensive side. Would like to go back again to dine.
Absolutely brilliant meal & drinks here on Sunday 29th July 2018
We had some nibbles to start then a fair few starter/sharers. All delicious. Evie our server was wonderful, explaining in detail the sizes of portions and what to expect taste-wise. Drinks were fabulous and I have a new fave - Key Lime Pie Cocktail
Reasonably priced and fantastic service. Will be back again.
We went to the Alchemist on 29/5/18 only stopped for drinks, the staff were very welcoming and the waiter was great and explained things well. My ten year old son loved his bubblegum mocktail and found it funny when the bubbles started bubbling everywhere. Keep up the good work.
Tables outside are on a 'first come first served', yet when we arrived tables had indeed been reserved by others. We weren't bowled over by the staff but the drinks were amazing. Wouldn't recommend for families, the atmosphere is definitely a grown up one.
Called in on Sunday morning for brunch, very exciting cup of tea ,an experience! Food nicely presented and good quality, poached eggs a let down ,perhaps stood to long they need to be served immediately to be soft , apart from that ,lovely atmosphere, and service excellent . p.s Jeromy Clarkson was in there ,so all the chaps very happy .
Booked a table before Alexander O’Neal concert , didn’t no anything about the bar , restaurant , it has the wow factor when you first walk in plus great views of the Quays. The staff were friendly and helpful . The food was 5 Star everyone with us enjoyed what they ordered, recommend the Alchemist for an enjoyable time
Went with my partner for his Birthday, we had a few cocktails before heading for a meal at Pier Eight. We chose The Mad Hatters which is a sharing cocktail at £21, we were expecting to be amazed. It was interesting to watch the mixologist at work with the equipment, but after the theatre and dry ice, the cocktail was weak and mediocre. It was lite and refreshing, but just tasted of lemonade and mint. The second cocktails we chose, The colour changing one at £8.50 each. As we were sat outside, we had to mix our own cocktail. The mixologist put all the components into various containers, put them on a tray and I took it outside. Again it was nice to see the theatre and mixing with the dry ice, but again the drink was very weak. It’s a nice establishment, very bling. But to be honest, the drinks did nothing for me. Very pricey for what we got. I had a couple of Espresso Martinis in Pier Eight which were cheaper at £7.50 each, these were far more superior in strength, and quality.
Went on the 23/3 before a show at the Lowry arrived about 6.15pm got a table straight away. Wife had Cajun chicken wrap which was ok i had the burger with exras bacon, cheese, chips. £13.75 for the burger, to be fair i have had better and a couple of £ cheaper.orderd 2 more drinks before we finished the meal good service plates were taken away & a manager arrived at the table at 6.50pm & asked for us to move to a different area to finish our drinks stating we had been there over our alloted time and they needed the table back. Not sure what was wrong with their system but she went away when we said we had been there 40minutes and that we would be finishing our drinks, and not moving. The actual place is new and lovely with a great view of the Quays.
Food 4 Stars
Service 1 Star
I visited today and was not happy with the service.
I have been given the menu at the door and left to choose my seat.
The waiter was neither wellcoming nor pleasent.
I have been given wrong bill with double the amount and did not even get an apology.
Place and food does not match the quality of the service.
Hardly value for money! Ordered chicken wrap with fries. The wrap had a weird taste, not enjoyable at all. Hardly any chicken. The fries came with fried onions... weird combo! Love onions but overpowered the taste of the fries. Restaurant in a lovely position overlooking the water... that’s all!!
First time I have visited the Alchemist and it will be the last. Very slow service and the food was only mediocre. One of my friends had chicken in a basket it came in a cage shaped like a chicken. The chicken was deep fried stips of chicken not what she expected however the manager do not charge for it. Cut out the gimics want food on a plate not in a wire chicken . The food definitely needs to improve.
Terrible service - uninterested staff who ignored me twice and looked so inconvenienced when I asked to order. The food was average at best (on both occasions I've dined there).
Customer service training is seriously needed at the alchamist media city. The staff seem to think they're too good to take an order and actually do their jobs.
No people in, quiet, 5 people of service almost doing nothing and they give no service, even not for 2 drinks of 10£ each, so we were gone!! If you run such a bar in Belgium, you can close your doors...
