Great selection of drinks

Went on a Thursday night (31st May) and it was really busy but the bar staff were amazing! A woman with blonde hair served us and she was so welcoming and professional. Cocktails were amazingly tasty and well presented with the guys behind the bar putting on shows throwing bottles etc around! Fab night with friends X

We went for a meal on Saturday and I can honestly say that we couldn't be more pleased with EVERYTHING. The food, the atmosphere and the waiters; it was just incredible. We have to quite a few fine dining places and Michelin star restaurants but haven't been this happy and believe me, we are not the easiest if customers. Thank you The Alchemist for a wonderful evening. X

We had an great time celebrating our daughters 18th birthday. The food and cocktails were amazing as was the service. Definitely will be coming back again soon

Service was fantastic, the guy was really friendly and helpful. Wish I’d gotten his name so I could put it on here. The food was good and everyone else’s looked fab as well. Loved the beakers etc that the cocktails and tea/coffee were served in.

I have been a few times the food is outstanding the drinks are fun with a twist and a great place day or evening ���� great cocktails and top service

Friendly helpful staff, explained all the different cocktails, strengths and flavours, the food was very nice, the cocktails range from £8 to £11, more if you want a sharer but we had such a good time it was well worth the price. We will definitely go back *****

Absolutely love it here! I've been a few times now and each time has been great :) Beautiful venue, fab food and cocktails and really lovely friendly staff! Would definitely call it my favourite Nottingham venue :)

Love the drinks and the bartenders (all the ones I've encountered in Nottingham have improved the experience). The place is best in the early evening before it gets too crowded as watching them make the drinks is half the fun though there's not nearly enough bar space with this in mind. Biggest criticisms are the lack of table seating and the volume of background music. The alchemist isn't a dance club and we were there before 9pm so you couldn't say it was for late night drinking i.e. past the talking hour; yet the music was so loud you had to shout to be heard. Not good for a social setting at all.

Great service, fab cocktails & very beautiful place. Mixed crowd, bar younger than restaurant. Lots of female groups dining.

Too noisy for supper, noise from bar & DJ just overwhelms restaurant. Having to shout to have a conversation.

Easy to fix...

Waited to get in for 15min had a beer as did not fancy a cocktail a bit of await to get served .not a bad place but not my favourite better places.

I loved the ambiance, service and the food I could have was great however I'm gluten intolerant and the choice available was really, really limited which was disappointing. The rating would be higher had I not been GF and if more options became available I'd definitely go back but other than a steak and a posset for dessert, everything contained gluten so just one to be aware of if you're GF / celiac.

3 of us ordered a different cocktail, all 3 drinks were bland and tasteless. Non of us finished our drink. Will not return and think the novelty of all the quirky drinks on offer will soon wear off if the taste if them is anything to go by!

We came on opening day and wasn’t impressed with the food. It was my daughter’s birthday today and she wanted to come to the Alchemist. Firstly music was way too loud to be able to hear each other talk, I understand in the bar area having loud music is fine but when having a meal it is good to be able to hear each other talk. Secondly the food is appalling, the size of the meals for the price is absolutely insulting. For 6 meals & 2 alcoholic cocktails and 3 non-alcoholic it cost £100. I had jerk chicken, had two small drumsticks, small thigh and 3 stodgy dumplings this was served on 2 tablespoons of al dente rice & beans this cost about £13.00 and wasn’t particularly tasty. Very disappointed, will never go back for food.

Waited good half hour to get served at the bar (there were literally 6-7 people in the queue). Bartenders were talking to each other more than actually making drinks, got annoyed and decided to leave. Unfortunately, very poor service, very dissatisfied.
