This is my local. Great little quirky pub with some fun quotes dotted about. A nice small outdoor area for the summer. Try the roast on Sundays, roast chicken is amazing!

Pleasant enough local pub with a classic film-themed décor including a model Jaws head bursting out of the wall above the bar! Some good local beers on tap.

loved that there was no music playing - and I want to come back and try some food there - the menu looked mouth watering

Hands down the best pub in Islington, food is great, especially the Sunday roasts. plenty of Bar staff, so service is always prompt and with a smile. You have to go here, just to check out the decor, so many classic films posters and random film memorabilia. a real Gem of a pub.

Chewiest, most undercooked and tasteless beef roast. Charcoal for a Yorkshire Pudding? Or was that a potato?? Gravy, veg and the fact that we had paid in advance were the only factors that kept me from walking out. The waiter who I complained to didn't even seem half arsed. Let's just say I'm never coming back!!

Good atmosphere, good food, good... Try, the chef homemade nachos, they are delicious!

This cosy, interesting pub is a real gem in a largely residential part of Islington. The movie theme is charming, if a little overdone in places (part of aforementioned charm), and you can spend a long time just looking at the walls everywhere. The atmosphere is good, candles are used as the main source of light in the evenings which is lovely and cosy, and a range of live events are put on. Drinks are typical London pricey, nothing unexpected, but the coffee is above average.

We had our 30-person Christmas Lunch at the Alma on Christmas Day just passed. The food was absolutely delicious, drinks were decently priced, the atmosphere was perfect & staff were extremely helpful & professional. I look forward to going back here on a regular basis!

Staff could be a bit more attentive. Maybe I'm not tall enough to be noticed :(
Other than that it's a great little pub. Quirky interior. Lots of seating and out door spaces.
