We had our daughters 16th Birthday party at the boathouse last Friday and what a brilliant time was had by all. Kate was brilliant with attention to detail regarding menus, time we could decorate the room and called a day before to finalise details. The Anchor staff are very pleasant and helpful.

The food was lovely and everyone commented on what a lovely room the boathouse is.

Would highly recommend both the boathouse for a venue and the anchor inn for the food served as well as the welcoming atmosphere.

We came back the day after the party to pick up balloons and take banners down and stayed for a lovely much needed breakfast.

Well done all at The Anchor inn

We had an absolutely fantastic meal here on Saturday evening. I would definitely recommend the Paella, it was without doubt the best I have ever had. There was no shortage of fish and chicken, absolutely gorgeous! The wife really enjoyed the Thai fish green curry. We will definitely be back as there are lots of other delicious offerings to be had! 👍

User

We could not fault our Mother’s Day meal at the anchor today!! Fab service, great menu choice and the food was just incredible.... all mixed with a lovely environment!! Great experience and will be returning Thank you all!!

We ate at the Anchor last night for the first time on the recommendation of Pershore Patty the food blogger. I had haddock goujons as a starter and in total they looked as big as a whole fish! - Our husbands had the steak offer (what was that steak called?) which was cooked perfectly and delicious. My main course was "Mum's Fish Pie" When it arrived I literally said "are you kidding me?" because it was so large it could have fed four! In fact it did - I shared it around our table and what was left the waiter very kindly packed it up for me in a box to take home (fish pie not the waiter!) I bake a mean fish pie myself, so it had to come up to scratch and it was superb! Lots of fish, and I mean lots, and the best cheesey mash I have eaten in a restaurant ever. All the meals were hot, freshly cooked, and delicious. The service was superb and very good prices. I'm sorry there is no photo - I get embarrassed about taking photos of food, though I do love to see them on a review! I must have recommended it to a dozen people alone today and we shall certainly come back again and again and again and again ...........

thank you The Anchor Inn and Boathouse for a memorable meal x Penny Rees

I recently held my 40th Birthday celebrations at the Anchor and I have say it was fantastic! Relaxed and unpretentious, the food was amazing and all my guests raved about it! Kate and Lauren did a great job looking after us, it really was a fab evening. Thank you to everyone at the Anchor. I would definitely recommend this to others as a great venue to celebrate at. X

User

Had my 30th party in the boathouse. Was a brilliant space. Everything was handled efficiently. The platters were excellent and delicious! Would highly recommend as it was such a good price too.

Crackling old pub next to the Diglis canal basin. Traditional feel to the bar - like a pub should be - nothing fancy or chic - just a bar, tables a few seats and good beers.

Excellent outdoor/barbecue area at the back over looking the canal boats. Well cooked wholesome grub.

Dog-friendly too which for us is always a bonus.

Well worth a visit if you are on a canal boat or just visiting Worcester. About 5 mins from the Commandery/Sidbury area behind where the old porcelain works once stood.

User

Couldn't have asked for a better place to have a relaxing, dog friendly, Birthday lunch. The food was to a high standard as was the service.

A warm, friendly place to eat and relax.

Highly recommend ️

User

Always was a great place for Breakfast but since this refurb it is now outstanding, clean and tidy great food and staff - parking by the Basin, best place in town for Breakfast for sure, much better than the slow inefficient Waitrose up the road.

User

Went to the Anchor about 6 months ago and it was 5 star. We went last night the bar staff were used to bar people no please or thank you. The food is fine but portions are small and we are not big eaters. It will be another year at least before we try it again. Sorry.

User

We are visiting for the weekend and were highly recommended the Anchor for breakfast. It's a lovely little pub, food was tasty but was very cold. We did still eat it as we were really hungry. Would not recommend on the experience we had. Staff are lovely

User

Arrived for breakfast after a downpour overnight and the benches outside hadn't been wiped down nor was there an offer to do so even though the sun was shining. The English breakfast had been pre-cooked and reheated and, as a result, was a tad charred. The eggs benedict lacked finesse but was tasty. Latte was hot but from a push button machine and tea was just a bag in a cup two thirds full of water, no pot. I asked for a jug of hot water to get another cup out of it. After hearing such good things about The Anchor, we left feeling disappointed.

User

Very disappointing breakfast wasn't anything to shout about apart from the price £7.95 for a basic breakfast not to the standard of previous visit , mug of tea as advertised was served In a cup and saucer when I asked why reply was a shrug of the shoulders and a grunt from a member of staff who clearly didn't want to be at work on a Sunday morning The famous Anchor breakfast has disappeared what a shame

User

The staff forgot about our order, our food took 40 minutes to arrive no one checked on us, we were offered a free drink when we both had full drinks at the table, could we not have been offered some food to last us the long wait we had? Just disappointed considering how quiet it was

User

The anchor is a nice enough place but to only have one chef working on a sunny Saturday summers evening is ridiculous! We initially went in for a drink and decided that the food looked nice, so decided to stay and eat. I went to the bar to ask for some menus, to be told there was only one chef working and there was a back long of orders so they had stopped taking them. That was then followed with the comment “ we would stop serving in an hour anyway!” I couldn’t believe that on a Saturday night, a popular pub stopped serving food at 8pm!! Especially during the summer.

The food may be nice but the customer care is appalling, especially as there was only two of us! The owners don’t seam to care about this place and its customers at all.

Just been this morning for breakfast and all I can say is what a shambles. We called ahead to make sure we could get a table for 10 which was no problem and that where the positives end. We waited around 15 minutes before a waitress came to take our order, there were no other tables inside the restaurant at this time (granted there were around 4 tables in the beer garden), we were told they had ran out of sausages which was hard to believe at 11am in the morning on bank holiday Sunday, but we all ordered anyway, some opted for veggie sausages and some for extra bacon. We then waited 45 minutes for our food to be served, when another table which entered the restaurant at least 30 minutes after us had their food, ate it and left in the time it took for ours to be served. When the food was served the orders were all over the place and 50% were incorrect to what had been ordered. There were also meat sausages on some of the breakfasts and some had veggie sausages, so those who had veggie sausages not out of choice were disappointed. I ordered eggs with toast and asked for butter on the side and it came on the toast (only around half a slice was provided, which was ridiculous for 2 eggs), the waitress knew this order was wrong when she put the plate in front of me because she said ‘I will get some more toast for you because I know he’s put the butter straight on’ safe to say the brown toast without butter never arrived. The ‘dippy’ eggs were also on their way to being hard boiled. The Diet Coke was also flat which on any other occasion would not have been a problem. During all of this the waitresses on duty kept looking at our table because they were clearly embarrassed and none of them knew what to say to us. When they checked back the table (which was only a passing comment when bringing one of the incorrect breakfasts back out 10 minutes later) we mentioned that everything being okay was a stretch of the word to which the waitress said ‘oh sorry’ and walked away. On asking to speak to the manager my friend was told they were not looking funnily at the table, we had misconstrued this, so clearly the customer is always wrong. We were offered 20% off of our bill and asked to return again soon, which I’m afraid will not be happening. Such a shame as we were all looking forward to our breakfast at what used to be a great place.
