Visited on 14/09/17 for a birthday meal. I haven't been to the Argosy in years and I don't normally leave reviews, but I have to say a special thanks to our waitress Lauren. Our group of 8 had an amazing time thanks to her brilliant service and bubbly personality. Even though she was busy running back and fourth she kept checking on us and even joined in on some of the fun and jokes we were having. The whole team were friendly and our every need was catered too with a smile. The food was pretty good too and a reasonable price. Would gladly visit again but will be requesting Lauren too.

Often pop in for tea or with friends in the evening... Love it.. food always hot and the staff always friendly no matter how busy they are..

Meal was great didnt wait long at all staff very helpful and pleasant went in with my daughter for her birthday lunch great atmosphere thanks team Argosy x

I come here quite often usually as a treat for my 4 year old, the food is lovely & great value for money, the staff are friendly & welcoming & the service is usually pretty quick to :) will definitely continue to come here :)

Great friendly and helpful staff, quickly getting back to how a pub should be. It's a clean environment and the food is much better than it has been for the past few years, a very well run pub.

My only criticism is a issue that is the chain's fault and that is that I believe that the cutlery should be given out by the waiting staff and not self service for obvious health and safety reasons. Keep up the good work Dan and the rest of the team.

Good food as always with great service always with a smile. Pub quiz on a Sunday at 6 always a good laugh with a great host and a great bunch of people make you feel welcome

Came in on sat night great atmosphere and tom beind bar is relly helpful not sure what food is like as never had any but it looks great

Always good food and the staff are brilliant and make up for the chairs and tables needing a bit of an up grade.

Absolutely superb visit as always! Bar staff were fabulous...the young lady waitress with the dark pony tail was a real credit, she worked so hard and nothing was too much trouble! The chef was brilliant too, our steaks were cooked to perfection. All 7 meals came out together, and looked lovely. I highly recommend The Argosy!!! 5 stars left the Chef Jordan a pint bwhind the bar for the end of his shift

Absolutely exceeded my expectations, for how cheap the food was I thought it would be nice but not great, but it was amazing. The staff have all been lovely despite being rushed off their feet the day before Christmas, we will definitely be back again!!!

Went here for our wedding anniversary on the 6th June. The food was lovely but my husband had to send his meal back as he didnŌĆÖt read that the steaks come on a bed of onions which my husband doesnŌĆÖt like. This was changed quickly though. The wall next to table 12 could do with a clean though as there were marks running down the wall and skirting board otherwise I would have given you 5 stars.

I eat here on a regular basis, good food, staff good, but PLEASE sort the toilets out, the ladies and gents! This really does let it down

We go for food regular at argosy always have great service nd very good food .beer is cheap especially when you go to play pool at the Crown put in Albert estate nd pay 3.25 for pint lager .no wonder small estate pubs are dying on there feet . I'd recommend argos ever time.

Highly recommend but not for the Sunday roasts... Roast potatoes were Aunt Bessies (very soft and squidgy)veg had been microwaved looked very dry when dinner arrived and was also hard.. .definitely won't go back for a Roast..

Food was good and fairly cheap. But don't go in a large party they cannot cope. Meals arrive at different times, the place needs a good clean with a few health and safety issues.

The toilets are a disgrace, broken catches on doors and urine swilling around the toilet cubicle.

The drinks is alright here but I'll never have food here, as in the past on two separate occasions, my food came out cold!!

But the other night went in just for drinks with mates, told a member of staff none of the three toilets had any loo roll. To which he replied abit arsed he'll get me some but I'll have to put them on there as he's not aloud!! Then just put them near me saying "there you go" This is bullshit as I've worked in pubs and clubs before and male staff can do toilet checks. I'm there to relax not do their job!! ’┐Į’┐Į
