I have a lovely, first floor single room in my Edwardian house in the historic heart of Rottingdean. It is a quiet room with views of neighbouring cottages and gardens. There is a very comfortable bed, original Edwardian wardrobe and restored antique drawers & desk. The room is decorated in white with duck egg blue touches and there is an original sanded pine floor. There are tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Nearby there is a bathroom with a bath and shower and a separate toilet.
Wifi & hairdryer in the room.
NO SMOKING HOUSE
I have a lovely spaniel dog who shares the house alongside me and my lodger Lucy.
Within a few minutes walk of the house you can see St Margarets Church, the pond, the old village green and the beautiful Kipling Gardens. The Grange Museum is also a stones's throw from the house and pretty old flint cottages. 10 minute walk to the Windmill & very near to the South Downs National Park.
The house is only 350 metres from the beach and a short drive to the centre of Brighton.
As my house is right in the centre of the village I don't offer breakfast There are many coffee shops and cafes that do a wonderful English Breakfast or Eggs Benedict so you won't go hungry. I fact you will be spoilt for choice!
Also, in the evening I'm very handy for the village pubs
I have a studio in my house and work from home most of the time.
I'm on hand to offer guests any information about Rottingdean and the surrounding area if required.
I use to work as a volunteer at the Grange Museum so I am well informed regarding the history of the village.
I'm always happy to make a pot of coffee and have a chat with a guest.
The house is 3 minutes from the main bus stop for buses into Brighton.
These are frequent and take about 15 minutes.
Parking is free in Rottingdean.
The ferry port of Newhaven is only 15 minutes away.
