The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences

A wonderful hotel in a great location near Hyde Park & Buckingham Palace, as well as a few bus stops and tube stations. Great staff, especially in the bar. It's also a close, lovely walk to Picadilly theatres and shopping.

Absolutely fantastic stay. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. They try to accommodate every need that you have and papa close attention to the details. I would stay they again in a heart beat. This was the best hotel that I have stayed so far.

A lovely hotel again! We have stayed here several times and it is such a friendly place. Recommended if you are tired of big impersonal London hotels these guys deliver quality service in spades - a special thanks to Maria who was so helpful in finding the right tables to entertain our guests! We shall return!

Overall lovely stay. Impressed by the friendly and attentive staff. They asked for our name at checkin and greeted us by name again later on. Champagne was brought to our room upon arrival. Expensive but worth it.

Afternoon Tea at Galvin (At the Athenaeum) was perfect. Food delicious, staff excellent but unobtrusive and location relaxed. Don't waste your time at the nearby Ritz, walk a few hundred metres and get something exceptional :)

Outstanding service, great attention to detail, food and drink tasty. Maitre'd was particularly friendly and helpful.

A very stylish venue but the Sunday roast was barely average pub standard. Service took a very long time and the beef was really tough. Despite bringing this to the waiter's attention there was barely an apology.

I got the room for my daughters 2nd wedding Anniversary . They picked up their son this morning & said besides the room being dated, it was dirty & parts of sex toys were on the carpet.
I asked if they said anything , they said NO they just wanted to get out of there.
I called & spoke with Jeannette & Leo & they argued that they should have called the front desk. Whatever !!!! They were very rude in the phone to me & I will tell everyone I know that visits the D to STAY away from their hotel.

Not worth the price. I feel the Italian family running this hotel is unaccustomed to solo female travelers. When I checked in, I got a lot of advice I didn't ask for from the guys behind the desk. When I asked another blanket be brought to my room, the same 2 guys showed up who were nervously trying to look behind my back into my room. Quite awkward...I mean, I travel a lot, and I have never experienced hotel staff who found it necessary to bring up a blanket in a team. Not going back, I get better service at the Hilton or Marriott.
