We came on Sunday for a carvery for the first time. We booked for ourselves and our twins and my parents. I was a little nervous as not been before and had invited my parents but there was no need to worry. The food was lovely and the staff were really helpful and attentive. Our four year old twins loved the play area outside and loved the bouncy castle. We asked if the bouncy castle could be put up and it was no trouble at all and was plugged in and blown up for them. We will definitely be coming again!

The carvery had four lots of meat which you could have all four if you wanted and lots and lots of different vegetables. You could re visit for more vegetables if you wanted and also we thought it was good value for money.

I would definitely recommend and have already recommended to other family and friends about how good it was!

Thanks for great Mother's Day lunch. Food piping hot and well cooked. Will certainly be back and have already recommended to someone else who had a bad experience yesterday at another local venue.

Stayed overnight in our Motorhome on Saturday 8th July 2017, the Owners of the pub Simon and Kerry were so welcoming, the choice and quality of the real ales was excellent, all the staff were very professional and the inside and outside of the pub is perfect for enjoyment and relaxation, we will definitely be returning.

Not a big review writer but this is a cracking place and well deserves a 5*

Stayed here for a few nights and couldn’t complain! Very comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms. In addition, plenty safe, private car parking make it the ideal choice for a local stay

Great hospitality in their local bar as well as offering quality, fresh home cooked food.

Highly recommend!!

I would just like to thank Kelly? Simon and their staff for making mine and Josh's wedding perfect. They went above and beyond to make sure us and our guests where looked after. I can't thank you all enough xxxxx

I am writing this review sitting outside listening to Lee Muldoon from the X Factor with my good lady and a glass of red wine. The Barley Mow was discovered purely by chance. Due to attend a wedding at Brownsover Hall on the Saturday we were due to park our caravan in the grounds of the hall. A week before we went to check where we were to set up to be told that we couldn't after all camp in the grounds. Well.... That caused a problem so we scoured the internet and found the Barley Mow for a drink and to gather our thoughts. The Landlord Simon overheard our conversation about our dilemma and sorted us with a pitch for the weekend By the canal.... They have been amazing. Kelly even gave me a lift to the hall after no taxis were available. Wow. They are the best hosts and we have made a bank holiday out of it and stayed two more nights. Great pub, great food, great hosts. Will visit again many more times I am sure. We found a proper gem in this place.....

User

Had a lovely meal at The Barley Mow, and we can stay the night in our motorhome.Very friendly welcome and right alongside canal so we can stop here in our boat too ,bonus

User

Fantastic food and the young lad who served us sorry can't remember his name couldn't of been more helpful and friendly would definitely recommend

User

Claire and Dan would like to thank Simon and Kelly at The Barley Mow for looking after us so well when Claire broke her ankle. Nothing was too much trouble made us feel so welcome. All the staff were fantastic but Adam stood out as being not just an exceptional member of the team but a splendid human being. Look forward to coming back on the 4th of May to see Gerry Goode perform and maybe have a small libation as well. Thanks again. All very best to you.

User

Amazing Meal and night at the Barley Mow. Such friendly and chatty staff that make you feel welcome... will definately return for another visit on our next trip to England...

User

Absolutely wonderful. I came all the way from Walsall to visit a friend with my dogs. Ralph and buddy. We all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere

User

Absolutely loved it the people are just absolutely amazing.

User

Service was really nice, especially the lad serving on his first night! Slightly limited choice of wine but it’s a pub so not unexpected. Food was very good. Decor and appearance was lovely and the piano in the gents loo was...err...unexpected!! But overall very good!!

User

Great pub, in an area where those are sparse. Nice atmosphere and the couple who run it are good fun and welcoming

User

Had a meal here last night. Would not return it was so poor. Sent mine back as the steak and chicken was over cooke, the pork chop was undercooked. Two other's in our group had a bland curry and bland chilli con carne. My starter was soaked in tar tar sauce, the portion was bigger than the fish
