The barn owl is open today until 6pm . Unfortunately we cannot serve hot food but can do cold ie baps and baguettes . Sorry for this but our staff are unable to get into work today hopefully we will be back to normal tomorrow regards Anne and mark.

Went on Sunday 1st July, didn't fancy roast, so had mushroom risotto, really tasty and filling. Was quite busy, best to book, Mx

Popped in for some food this afternoon and had the cajun burger, i can honestly say one of the best burgers I've ever had! We also had the veggie lasagne which was also lovely. Nice to eat somewhere with amazing food! Great Job Barn Owl �

Never disappointed with the quality of the food or the service. The Barn Owl is well run by Mark and Ann who provide a very warm welcome every time we visit.

Never been here before, definitely going again! Great food, great atmosphere, Kevin looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble for him.

Met with a good friend and catching up with gossip before we looked at the lunch menu. Staff very friendly, Good atmosphere, also good food and 2 meals for £10.

I have been to the Barn Owl twice recently, on both occasions the food was very good and the staff were very attentive. I will be going again soon

I came to eat with my brother and his girlfriend. ..the food was excellent and very tasty. Was a bit disappointed with the pie as it was more like a dumpling but the meat inside was soft and tasty. Had Eaton mess for a sweet and discovered it had no ice cream just cream. The coffee was good and the staff was very polite and friendly. Good service and lovely atmosphere with a room to sit and have a drink or a coffee to relax. Would go again and tell my friends about my experience.

Consistently quality food and service. The menus alter occasionally to keep it fresh but they are still happy to make a previous favourite if it is no longer on the menu. Brilliant.

Brilliant evening on Saturday for my Husband's 70th birthday. We had a table for 9 in our own room and although they were very, very busy that night we had superb service with lovely food. The staff were all so nice and helpful although they were run off their feet. A lovely noisy evening was had by us all. Thank you - we will be back!

After visiting the Torbay are for many years, finally found time to drop into The Barn Owl. The food is better than wonderful and excellent value, but most important for us is very dog friendly. So good that we had to make a return visit. If you're in the area and want a pub that is dog friendly with excellent home cooked food and great staff give this one a try. May have to make a word visit be for we return home!

Absolutely brilliant xmas meal pleasant helpful staff great atmosphere will certainly be back .A leisurely chilled atmosphere with excellent food and sevice we will be back x

Absolutely beautiful food I had roast lamb it was amazing tender and melt in the mouth and the veg was lovely as well my partner had a wild boar burger absolutely stunning lovely pub beautiful setting and lovely friendly staff I will definitely be coming back and highly recommending it to all of my friends very impressed.

Went for lunch with friends yesterday and have not been for a couple of years. Was pleasantly surprised food was delicious, portions large and Kevin the waiter could not have been more attentive. Thank you Ade Lucas

Myself and husband and a couple of friends ate at the Barn Owl a few weeks ago, and were very impressed. We went for the Fish and Chips meal which was Buy One get One free. No complaints whatsoever. We decided to go last night to the Pie and Chips night, although my husband had the Gammon,Egg and chips which he said was very nice, and looked it too. Unfortunately the pies were not so good. Not a pie as we would know it, it resembled a dumpling. I think it was suet, but I didn't mind that. Three of us had Steak and Ale pie, but the steak was really tough which I had to leave, carrots ok, but the French Beans were hard and a bit stringy. So I am afraid to have pie again, but because of the previous meal we had here, then we will return. Staff very polite, and the restaurant itself is very nice. Sorry Barn Owl, but I have to be truthful if writing a review.

Staff are lovely and a nice selection of Ales but food was slow... which I wouldn’t have minded but it was cold, dry and bland... and that was a variety of meals on a table of 10!! Not just mine.... I did tell the bar staff who said they would pass on but not even a sorry when I paid the bill... not that I was after anything off!! Such a shame as it’s a nice little pub....

Not the best - we booked 5 or 6 days in advance after asking specifically for a Vegan option - only to be told on the night that there was no vegan menu unless given 24 hours notice so it was clear our request hadn’t been noted. We asked for bread on the table and then waited another hour for our mains as this bread was considered to be our starters? The mains were disappointing- watery veg, some items missing from one of our plates and orders weren’t complete, leathery Yorkshire pud, and school dinner beef. We didn’t stay for pudding. We didn’t feel looked after and would not recommend or return. Not great for Mother’s Day �
