Over £30,000 has been paid to talented musicians over the past 6 months.
The Basement was founded to be an intimate live platform for excellent musicians in the heart of London & to provide Musicians with a stable income that they can re-invest in their art.
99.9% of those musicians who have been cherished by our Management Team & customers have decided to not be brave and speak up but join few naysayers.
We love musicians & despite some differences I am sure Harry Christelis can attest to that.
Yes, there are 3 payments which are currently undergoing a mediation process through professional channels.
For those who have joined in spreading rumours & felt the need to send disgusting messages and reviews...you are no better than a Lynch Mob (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynching) & you should be ashamed and disgusted with yourselves.

Redlox & Fatneck are a guitar and saxophone loops duo who started on the streets as buskers in 2010. They use FX pedals to build songs from the bottom up, as a starting point for their live improvisations. They regularly use compositions from Jazz fusion and a pop music repertoire as a basis for their explorations and can regularly be found bringing sunny music to London and further afield.
Everything Redlox & Fatneck do is recorded live on the spot, often totally off the cuf...f using a loop pedal and various effects, so it's thrilling, keeping watchers hooked, engaged and wondering where the next melody will be taken.

I wouldn't run a garage if I can't pay the mechanics, so why are you operating as a music venue if you can't pay the musicians? You've been given the opportunity to rectify your mistakes, and yet still haven't done so - the only way to prevent other musicians being scammed in the future is to close your venue down.

Describes it's self as 'warm and inviting' but that is obviously as long as you're not a musician.

Venues that don't pay musicians for the service they provide don't deserve your custom.

An unethical business that cancels engagements with contractors (musicians) and refuses to pay those who have worked there.

An establishment that profits off the musicians it doesn't pay.. don't go there

A music venue thar treats their musicians unfairly is not a music venue that I would be happy to recommend...
