Our mussels are from Cornwall and are rope-grown. Along with being the best for the environment, these mussels will give you the freshest flavour, texture, and aroma.⠀ ⠀ ‘Farmed’ mussels are actually wild mussels that are gathered when they are young and encouraged to grow on rope. The main difference between them farmed and wild? Monitored suspension growth keeps mussels off the seabed and reduces their mortality rates. Both these benefits are transferred you: cleaner and le...ss-gritty mussels results from little seabed contact and higher survival rates means cheaper costs.⠀ ⠀ Now the ever-apparent question regarding any form of farmed food—what’s the environmental impact? Good news—mussels IMPROVE the environment. Mussels feed on naturally occurring and abundant phytoplankton, therefore no manmade feed is required and no chemicals are added. Mussels are filter feeders, which means they reduce the impacts of pollution.⠀ ⠀ Now that’s enough marine biology. Who fancies a great steaming bowl of our fat and juicy Moules Marinière with extra Lawlors bread to mop up? We’ll see you later! Book your table now to avoid disappointment. Head over to www.thebaskerville.com or call 01189403332 ⠀

𝕊𝕦𝕡𝕡𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕣 𝕤𝕡𝕠𝕥𝕝𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥: Kingfisher Brixham ⠀ ⠀ Today we’re introducing our super seafood supplier. Based in Paignton in Torbay, Kingfisher Brixham is the perfect match for The Baskerville. We share the same principles on sustainability, traceability and environmental responsibility. They are a pleasure to work with and quite simply, their fish is the best! ⠀ ⠀ Their local fishermen give us an amazing supply of the freshest fish available and in the summer they also supply beauti...ful local crab and shellfish.⠀ ⠀ Marc Shipton manages Kingfisher Brixham. Marc joined Kingfisher whilst still at school. Working for the company during his school holidays, Marc began working full time in the production department after finishing school in 1993 where he worked as a fish processor, and then as a packer. Marc went on to work in sales, helping to grow the business before becoming Operations Manager in 2003 and then Depot Manager in 2009. This background has given Marc a great grounding for depot management by understanding what is involved in all aspects of the business. Marc is supported by a great team of buyers, account managers, fishmongers and delivery drivers.⠀ ⠀ Marc tells us “I don’t know of too many jobs where people get as passionate about their industry and the product they work with as in the fish industry. I love working for Kingfisher Brixham because we have some of the finest fish in the world landing on Brixham Fishmarket which is on our doorstep, and to be able to sell seafood of this quality gives us a real edge. I also work with a lot of great people who I enjoy working with. Brill is my favourite fish, I love the flavour and texture.”⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Are you in the mood for seafood? Presently, on the menu we have our bestselling Cornish King scallops, marinated purple octopus, Moules Marinière, lemon sole Meuniére, cod and chips, and seafood linguini all to choose from. Fresh from the sea. Which takes your fancy?⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #thebaskie #supplierspotlight #catchoftheday @ The Baskerville

🦐 Seafood linguini 🦐 ⠀ ⠀ Creamy, beautifully-seasoned pasta and delicate fresh fish? Oh yes! But it’s the salty, tender green stalks of samphire which really makes this seafood linguine dish sing. Give it a try, it’s one of our bestselling dishes at the moment. ⠀ ⠀ Enjoy with plump mussels, calamari, clams, prawns and samphire in a chilli and herb butter. Can you resist? It’s divine 🌹... ⠀ Call to book your table 01189 403332 ⠀ ⠀ #thebaskie

Have you seen our new ciabatta sandwiches? They’re causing quite a stir with our locals and walkers who love to pop in for a spot of lunch, a pitstop or long-due catch up with friends. Here we have one of our favourites: Sticky roasted figs, prosciutto, roquette and a dreamy blue cheese sauce. What a combination! Tag a friend if you fancy this for your lunch date tomorrow.⠀ ⠀ #thebaskie #lunchdate

𝕊𝕦𝕡𝕡𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕣 𝕤𝕡𝕠𝕥𝕝𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥: Fairmile Vineyard⠀ ⠀ Flying the ‘local business’ flag and wholly supporting our trusted suppliers’ journey is as at the heart of The Baskerville ethos. That’s why when we learnt that beautiful Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes were being grown on our doorstep, we jumped at the chance to stock Fairmile Vineyard fizz. The company is proud to continue a long heritage of English winemaking. ⠀ ⠀ In 2011, local couple Jan and Anthea Mirkowski reco...gnised that the foothills of the Chilterns on the outskirts of Henley would provide the ideal terrain and microclimate for viticulture. The steep south-facing slope helps vines capture the most sunlight – in fact 30% more sunlight during October, when the grapes are in berry, and the sun low on the horizon, than if the vines were planted on level ground.⠀ ⠀ @fairmilevineyard produces two exceptional award-winning wines, Classic Cuvée and Rosé. The Classic Cuvée carries the biscuity aroma associated with lying on the lees (yeast), mellow caramel undertones from a little oak-barrel ageing, and a citrus aftertaste which lingers so well on the palette because of the remarkably low dosage of sugar. While the Rosé is made from a blend of Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier grapes. Made in the traditional method (methode Champenoise), it is dry, crisp, fresh and fruity with a lovely long finish. Both of the wines have been very well received here at the Baskerville and we look forward to see what the future holds for Jan and Anthea at Fairmile Vineyard.⠀ ⠀ Are you a fan of Fairmile Vineyard wines too? Which is your favourite, the Classic Cuvée the Rosé?⠀ ⠀ #thebaskie #fairmilevineyard #englishsparklingwine ⠀

The Bite are back at The Baskerville this Sunday! Conveniently at the end of Dry January 🍺🍻🥃🍷🥂
The dynamic power trio formed in April 2014 by three pro musicians at the very top of their game, all of whom have worked with big names and been involved in hit recordings.
Playing great tunes from the halcyon days of classic rock, The Bite doesn't merely 'cover' songs, but adds a sparkle and a contemporary feel to some of the best music ever brought to the world.
... The Bite is an unmissable band that brings you the authentic feel of a quality band from a golden era.
Join us from 7pm this Sunday 26th January 🍻🍺🥂🍷
