Makes a change for us to make a weekend night out!

Very light and airy restaurant. Food lovely, had the fried breakfast. Would have preferred to sit at a table as I found the booth a little tight and fixed, but they were quite busy. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

User

Stayed at the Premier inn overnight. Had the meal deal, both the evening meal and breakfast was good. Service was also good. Would stay here again.

I went to the Beacon last night for my birthday meal with my partner, my son and his girlfriend and 2 very special friends. The food was amazing, the waitress was a young girl but she was polite and knew what she was talking about. she made our visit ( which was the first time we had been there) very enjoyable. We shall be returning here for sure.

The atmosphere was calm and relaxing.

The menu was good and very difficult to choose from.

Everything looked so good.

I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Thank you for a lovely evening.

We had the £24.99 dinner/breakfast meal from Premier Inn. Value for money wise, can't fault it. Service at the bar from the lovely man was perfect, quick/efficient (as was the waitress). Meals were lovely, enjoyed by all (although I really think £2.49 for a side order of slaw is a tad expensive). Drinks prices were reasonable for the location.

However, when we went down for breakfast in the morning this is a different story altogether.

Nobody was a desk to greet us, took ages to order coffee's as well as hot food (which took a long time to arrive). Once hot food arrived it was lovely though. Waitress staff were very slow in general, including clearing table of used crockery/plates etc. Staff looked like they didn't wanna be there. Memebr of management was heard shouting sarky comments to the Male chef, unprofesaional in my opinion. As for the bloody toaster!! 1 of the most infuriating pieces of machinery I've ever come across in my life. My toast kept falling out back of toaster onto chair/floor. Took me multiple attempts to get toast. 1 thing I am baffled at is having to pay extra if you want hot chocolate. I don't understand why this is when it isn't any more expensive than the coffee/lattes.

Would definitely eat an evening meal here again/have a few drinks BUT wouldn't entertain breakfast

Turned up at 12 o'clock and walked into the bar and all the staff was watching the wedding on the telly one of the members of staff said could we a wait as they have all been waiting to see the bride in her dress. In the end a member of staff came over and served us. Food was good as with a beefeater but being kept waiting by staff watching royal wedding is not.

User

Even though the waitress was very pleasant, service was extremely slow. Food was enjoyable but I think the puddings were expensive. Had to ask twice for my coffee. They gave my grandson the activity sheet without any crayons which we had to go looking for and repeatly ask for.

User

Stopping in the Premier Inn attached. Went down for some food and drink at 20:30. Was told the restaurant was full and booked up for the night. Then after waiting almost ten minutes to be served at the bar. I was told they are not serving food in the bar area! Not the friendliest of staff either.

User

I despair of having a good steak at a Beefeater and last night was no exception. The porterhouse was under cooked, tasteless and had lots of gristle. No, I didn't send it back, what was the point. I keep giving Beefeater a chance but I've just about had it now. I had crumble and custard for a dessert and it was by far the best thing I tasted all night.

User

Although the food is nice the restaurant seems to be understaffed as very very slow to get food out. Waited over 30 minute for our main. Set the expectation if you're busy tell your customers especially when they have a baby waiting to eat, although I find long waiting times common in beefeaters for some reason, disappointing!

User

Went in the middle of the day for lunch and even though it was quiet service was really slow, the Food is nothing special, the burger on the kids menu is really dry, pudding that was over £5 was a tiny bit of ice cream topped up with ice cream

Even with a 40% off Voucher it felt expensive for what we got

As we got in the car to go home my daughter said she was hungry still and I didn’t feel like I had a nice filling meal either

When we complain about the quality of the pudding we got fob off we ‘that’s how it comes’ won’t be returning and will tell others not to bother going

Avoid this place

We booked table for 8oclock was told get drink at bar why they done table come back ten mins later and they say is done on table that was already waiting when we arrived then took them over half hour to take order them waited another 40 mins for dinner to arrive it was joke won't be going again

User

The beacon beefeater tonight actually gave our 2 year old boys gone off beans that smelt of vinegar and, had white bits in them only to palm us off with a cover story! How the chef couldn't smell it ,and see it, I will never know?

User

Shocking manager was really rude. Uncooked beef made me ill the next day. And when I asked about complaints she gave me her email address and not Whitbread head office number like she should have. After speaking to the head office thay explained to me what the so called manger dident didn't want to tell me. If your meat is not cooked it will make you ill. Don't let the jumped up no good fat bird of a manger div fob you off. Her name was kat and going by some of these reviews she's pissed a lot of customers off.

User

Omg fuming just been here for my sons birthday meal arrived at 6.30 took half hour to get order that was just starter then after another half hour for mains they forgot some of the food didn’t ask us for if we wanted more drinks then didn’t get seen to again for another half hour and wen we did she asked wat we was waiting for I said the bill she lost our receipt she was so slow it was not busy at all won’t be going back angery

User

Myself and three friends just went here and left! Stood at the counter for 10 minutes without any acknowledgement from staff so assumed we could sit down as the restaurant was half empty, we then sat for 25 minutes and was passed by 3 members of staff all of which failed to speak to us! After wasting a total of 40 minutes of my life we left without a single person saying anything to us!

Absolutely shocking!

User

Doesn't even deserve a 1. Absolutely appalling. Had a table booked for 8pm, got sat down at 10past ( the only good part of the night). Ordered drinks and food almost straight away. 9.15 no starter so went and asked where it was, 20minutes later starters came out I had asked for them to bring the main out at the same time as I had two young children who needed to eat but no that didn't happen. 10.30 still no main so again went and asked where is was. I spoke to the manager who told me she was very sorry but she had to sack the chef ..... well for starters you shouldn't have been telling me that and also not my problem, not once did anyone come and apologise for the long wait or offer any complimentary drinks. So after speaking to the manager we left with no meal, I had to take my children who were tired and hungry to bloody mc Donald's drive through at 10.50 pm Angry was an understatement.

User

Avoid avoid avoid.... management argumentative and no help, main meal came up and forgot starters, and management said well waitress apologised didn't she, so that's acceptable, £4.99 for 3 garlic prawns, food left under UV lamps whilst all staff having a chat in the corner, so my husband went and collected it!!!! By now, steak was well done and not medium rare, this place hasn't got long left, so annoyed we payed the bill

Made even better from our waitress Jen, She really made us feel welcome Thanks.

Another wonderful meal out!

Thanks Jess!

Makes a change for us to make a weekend night out!

Very light and airy restaurant. Food lovely, had the fried breakfast. Would have preferred to sit at a table as I found the booth a little tight and fixed, but they were quite busy. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

Stopping in the Premier Inn attached. Went down for some food and drink at 20:30. Was told the restaurant was full and booked up for the night. Then after waiting almost ten minutes to be served at the bar. I was told they are not serving food in the bar area! Not the friendliest of staff either.
