This is one we're REALLY excited about!
We're hosting a Timothy Taylor's "Taste of Taylor's" evening on Thursday February 28th... But this is one with a real difference!!
Timothy Taylors have launched a new beer from their 'Taylor Made' range last week and we're going to be one of the first places in the UK to be serving it....meaning you could be one of the first to try it! 🍻
... Come and join us for the history of Taylor's, beer tasters, snacks, raffles and plenty of prizes!

We're feeling all nostalgic here at the Beech Tree. In light of our upcoming 40th birthday and our origins as a Joshua Tetley pub we've brought back the ever popular Tetley Bitter to our bar 🍻 This quality pint has been enjoyed by many over the 4 decades in which we've served it, if you haven't tried a pint yet then why not?? It's the definition of tradition and quality!

Went last Saturday and to be honest wasn't really looking forward to it as the last couple of times I've been really disappointed with the food however I was pleasantly surprised food was delicious!!! Great music and good atmosphere

User

Went in yesterday 13th April for tea it was lovely we both had a starter of mushrooms etc., followed by gammon, choice of eggs or pineapple or both, chips and peas. Could not fault the food or staff a very warm welcome certainly will be going back good value for money.

User

We had a great night...even though it was very busy and we didn't get our table when we had booked it for . The staff wer brilliant , the food was good and value for money great night thank you 😀

User

Took my friend there Monday , staff was lovely but food very poor both ordered steak , my friends was that poor that she couldn’t eat it mine was much better , did tell the staff but nothing at all was done

User

Popped in for lunch today and, as always, it was lovely. Prawn cocktail starters and fish and chips for hubby and grilled chicken with chips and bbq sauce for me. Always brought in great time, always nice and hot and served by lovely staff. The extra charge for such as prawns and chicken on the ‘courses’ menu can bump up the price which can make your bill expensive if you’re not careful.

The bar prices are extremely high on some beers. +£3 for carling? Outrageous!

But the quality of the food does make up for it

User

Mark is absolutely fantastic and always on hand to give advice if needed. The food is tasty and the service has improved since the new landlord has taken over. If you have had cause to complain in the past then give it another try as everything is so much better. Will definitely be back

Had our weekly family meal in Beech Tree this week. The food was hot with lots of flavour and everyone finished their meals ( this is not always the case) . Only down side was the dirty plates were left on the table for over half hour after we'd finished eating and were still waiting to be cleared when we left.

User

Always a great place to visit. Great that James is now there too as always had top service from him at the other places he's worked and can now get that closer to home!

User

Went for Sunday lunch had no beef so had to have chicken which wasn't very nice . (Not keen on half a roast chicken) . Felt it was very dry even with the gravy on.

Should offer smaller plates for older people out of 4 of us we would of eaten just two meals between us.

Disappointed and only second visit

User

The selection at the bar was okay, however non of the staff in attendance that day seemed to know who to serve next. This created chaos with the obligatory "who's next?" Indicating a lack of bar control allowing frustrated punters to shout over each other. Further to this, seemingly if one orders more than one drink you find yourself having to repeat the order over.... I would go again, but on the day I had one drink. One drink was enough.

User

Pop in now an the when I'm home from offshore good local as it's just round the corner good ambiance and good bar staff over hear some people just talking about how big there gaff is and what car there driving and judge people by there bank accounts !! Other than that it's not to bad !!

User

It's good for a drink, hard to get a table outside in good weather, more seating would be a good idea. Food has gone right down hill, got a crispy duck salad the duck wasn't crispy looked like mashed up dog food. Waited ages to get served was around 6:30 about 20 people waiting to get served and only 2 bar staff on. I wouldn't be getting food anymore unless I hear that the food has improved

User

Food ok not the best .. bar staff be a bit slow been in a few times had the same experience . Just moved to the area we won't rush to go in which is a shame as it's a nice looking local.

User

Waited 50 mins for food and not told about delay. When arrived came on a chipped plate. Asked to change and came back on another chipped plate. Food cold steak burnt and cops cold too. One lad serving too busy to complain to and didn't have time to ask us if all OK. Crap fir what we paid. Not enough staff for a busy Fri night shame

User

Staff were nice, as was the surroundings but the food was very poor...food order was quick(wasn't busy)....I ordered fish chips...the fish was straight out of the box...the chips were over cooked and looked like they were the last couple found in the back of the freezer draw...the mushy peas were over microwaved, so much so there was only a table spoon portion size left...I didn't think £9something fish and chips could be so disappointing...I was proven wrong

User

Quick lunch turned into long lunch.... 1hr 20mins for sandwiches and a child’s meal. Wrong sandwiches brought so had to ask for a refund as we couldn’t wait any longer.

User

Ok for a drink but not good for food , tables are dirty and TBH not great value for money . Toilets are dirty really really gone down hill , dingy inside my advise give it a miss much nicer places locally

User

Went there yesterday tea time. It was full of screaming kids, all the tables were reserved and no one was sat at them. Awful. Beech Tree should cater for adults, and stop reserving tables. It's a pub not a reastaurant.

User

I hope tonight’s ‘quiz’ was a free trial that you are never going to do again. The online element was awful, so many problems arose, which left the very unenthusiastic quizmaster apologising every 5 seconds. The quiz wouldn’t be that bad if it wasn’t for the speed element which left players with slower connections with zero chance at scoring. It also removes any social aspect to the quiz. I can guarantee I won’t be back until the return of the paper quiz.
