What a great pub. Great beer, great company and the best end of Festival tunes - see you all next March π€
What a find! A 'proper ' pub with a great atmosphere. Good food, wide selection of beers and, in Johnny, a great barman! Will be back and soon.
Weβve had several family meals and always been very impressed. What is more, on other occasions, a really friendly drinking place.
We visited here in the run up to New Year and totally loved it. Initially we planned the visit due to me be obsessed with anything related to bees (yes, bit odd I know!!) however this pub is a little gem tucked away in Cheltenham. We booked a table for a meal one evening and ate in the upstairs dining room which has a quirky feel and was really relaxed. The food was excellent and after reading another review recommending the lemon tart, I thought I should give it a go. I too thought it was scrumptious. After our meal we sat back downstairs in the pub and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and had a few drinks. We ended up returning the following lunchtime and ate fish finger sandwiches which were delicious. The Beehive is well worth a visit if you are in Cheltenham, we will be sure to return.
We have visited The Beehive on several occasions and have always enjoyed ourselves. Our recent visit was for a yummy roast dinner with family who were visiting Cheltenham. My aunt was thrilled to see lemon tart on the desert menu, her absolute favourite. When it came out, she said it was the best lemon tart she'd ever tasted and beat tough competition from NY, our cruise holidays etc. Not long after their visit was my aunt's birthday. I messaged The Beehive on Facebook on the off chance that I could buy one of the lemon tarts. The AM replied to me and worked on sorting it out for me. My aunt was delighted to open the fridge on her birthday to her favourite desert and couldn't believe her luck!
Many thanks to Tash for sorting it out with me! See you soon :)
Very good Sunday roast with a good choice of vegetables. Starters were enormous which meant I couldn't finish my main but some people would like that. Service was quick and friendly.
Nice little out of the way pub. Quite often visit when yhe cricket's in town. Good ales and ciders. Lunchtime snack menu not too bad either.
My favourite pub in Cheltenham! Good food, good cider, good company and one of the only places you can get a proper pub atmosphere in Cheltenham.
Met a lovely lady in The Swan on the high street (my usual choice) last week who has just moved to Cheltenham and works at the beehive. She reminded me what a lovely pub it is and I must pop in soon as I have always had a lovely time!
Love this place .... Our new local
Only down side is that if you go out the back to drink/smoke , the language from the kitchen is shocking !!!!!!
I'm not an easily shocked lady but not so good if your grannie was outside with you !!!!
Lively, traditional (with a modern twist), friendly, great food, candles, open fire, attentive, smiling staff.
Sunday lunch what it should be: hot, tasty, plentiful and sleep inducing.
Incredible place for an epic Saturday brunch treat...extensive menu choice...awesome staff...lovely atmosphere
I go here for a business network meeting. I find it welcoming, the staff helpful. The room is good (mood lighting) and the food is really amazing.
Had a belated Christmas party just yesterday (April)...I cannot thank or compliment the staff at the Beehive enough. The food was great.. Service exceptional and the effort put in to decorate the room and create a Christmassy atmosphere for us, made it a very special day! Thankyou!
Great meal at The Beehive. Part of Ray,s Stagg do. Very impressed with both the food and the service. Will definitely return
Best pub in Cheltenham by a mile. Great beers, comfortable surroundings, good staff, dog friendly, top food. I would live there if I could.
I love the Sunday lunches at the Beehive, as it's excellent food. So booked a table for a large group of us today.
The food was lovely as always, tender roast beef and veg. Pudding were delicious.
Just got one complaint - we really felt like we were an irritation to the waitresses. We weren't in the least demanding, just asked for some more potatoes. We had to prompt everything from menus for dessert to more drinks. They really seemed to not want to be there. Which was a shame
We'll come back because we like the place and the food, perhaps a big table is too much for them?
