Wonderful old fashioned Pub, great beer and great food. Well worth a visit.

Visited this pub yesterday, it was an awful experience. Bar staff are slow and discourteous when I tried to order a coke. It took ten minutes of waiting before my drinks order was taken then the bar staff told me that she had to serve someone else and was left to wait longer. Poor service and attitude from staff forced me to walk out. This venue also appears badly managed as waiting staff were not removing plates from the beer garden efficiently. Friends accompanying me were waiting outside and no one removed previous customers plates and left overs. Unimpressed by the service, we went into Southwold for food.

Very welcoming dog friendly pub. Nice big garden. Friendly service. Food was very nice. Reasonably priced and quick service even though it was busy.

We went for an evening meal. Slightly worried by some negative comments before we went. However, the negative comments could not have been further from the truth. The food was truly excellent, my pan fried sea bass was delicious. Fish pie superb, and the veggie option was also very tasty. Staff friendly and attentive, and food came out on time piping hot.
Highly recommended.

Food is good, Service a bit slow but the building is lovely. Staff not great as they wouldn't help us plug our electric car in. No real attempt at making it work despite simply needing a 3 pin plug point. Shame as the pub is perfectly located and has a very nice garden.

The fish and chips were very good . The pub is nicely decorated v clean . The children's menus are very good value for money . Sea views from the garden are lovely. Staff are helpful and very accommodating . Nice visit will return for sure . Good it was dog friendly .

Expensive for a pub in Suffolk. Menu looks good. Wife and I had sandwiches (crayfish tails
and also a cheese and Suffolk chutney). The contents of both sandwiches were nice. But the bread (white) in both sandwiches was dry like they had been pre-cut and left out for a while. The pub itself is quite nice. Decent toilets and there is a nice (and quite large) garden. Plenty of places to sit. Needs to up its game a bit on the food front as I guess there is some complacency that there aren't that many places to eat around here.
