We visited by chance last night after a very long day at LEGOLAND, we happened to spot the Belvedere Arms on our drive home and decided to stop for some dinner. The staff were warm, welcoming and very friendly. We were sat on a lovely table and enjoyed looking at the the decor. One of the waitresses recommended a lovely wine (very much needed after our long day), it was delicious and reasonably priced. We all enjoyed the nibbles that were brought to the table while we had a look at the menu. We decided to get the camembert and some olives to share, this came really quickly and was amazing! So so tasty, I could have eaten the entire thing myself. For mains my husband had a burger which he really enjoyed, I had king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine which was fantastic and our 3 children all had sausage and mash, I had a sneaky taste and it was gorgeous they all tucked in and really enjoyed it. The puddings of lemon tart and cookies and icecream were all very yummy. We had one very small problem with piece of cutlery which was quickly dealt with and the very attentive staff even took something off the bill to make up for the trouble. When the bill came we were very pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was, I've paid a lot more for food that wasn't as good at other establishments. Highly recommend the Belvedere Arms, we will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Was my Granddaughters Graduation , And The Food and Service was great waitress was so friendly which made it a lovely evening x

User

Spotted this pub when dropping some customers at a different place popped in and spoke nicely to a very helpful waitress (Kat) big thumbs up to her the burger that I had was sooo tasty my compliments to the kitchen staff and also to the bar staff very very nice establishment keep up the great work

User

It may have helped that we visited this gastro pub on a gorgeous sunny day but sitting outside in the warm evening to have a relaxed dinner was simply perfect.

There are plenty of comfy outdoor sofas and chairs plus tables for dining and a great atmosphere. The menu is identical to a sister establishment in Dorset, The Cliff, which is our local choice for well-priced food in welcoming surroundings, and both eateries offer consistently good quality food.

I was torn between the smoked brisket brioche and the escalopes with pea puree and chorizo so opted for a starter of the latter followed by the brioche, both dishes being superb. Staff were friendly, professional and quick. What more could you ask for?!

User

Had a lovely Boxing day meal went very smoothly staff were great food was fab had a Xmas menu for 8 cocktails were well made so we will probably be booking again another year and have odd meal in the year like we did in the summer

User

Excellent food very good service with one particular waitress was lovely.

Came here for dinner with my parents and cannot put into words how helpful Alastair (the manager) was with my mums dairy allergy. He went through the menu with us and gave us a complete allergy list so we could see every ingredient, he did an off-menu item (there's a different menu on a Sunday) for mum and made a bespoke pudding for her. Although the food wasn't cheap, it was delicious and well presented. It's unusual to find a place that is so helpful with allergies and has a manager that is so understanding. Would definitely recommend this place whether or not you have an allergy!

User

Absolutely amazed at some previous comments regarding service and staff attitudes. Visit this Pub regularly and whether it's eating in the restaurant or just having a drink with family, we have always received a warm welcome, amazing food and polite service from friendly staff. Will continue to visit as find it very difficult to visit a pub that can offer the quality experienced every time we go to to the Belvedere.

User

A good spot for a Sunday lunch with friends and family. A little noisy inside but comfortable dining experience. A wide menu with lots of options, for everyone. The drinks menu is excessive and the executive Gin cocktails a great little extra enjoyed by all.

Easy access and loads of parking, would be a great spot for a gathering.

We discovered Belvedere Arms about two years ago and it was the place to go and to take our guests to. We live about 40 minutes away but the atmosphere and the food used to be worth the travel until about six or so months ago. On the last few visits we felt that the quality of both food and service has really dropped. The staff seems to be somewhat confused and food is nothing but fancy menu descriptions that often don’t match the reality on the plate. I don’t think we will be visiting any time soon.

User

This was my first visit and, to be honest, I wasn't overly impressed. It was a friend's birthday and there were about 20 of us in our lunch party. Of course, we'd booked (and even ordered the food) well in advance. When we started assembling one rather impatient seeming member of staff claimed to know nothing about the booking and mumbled he could fit us in outside but there'd be no table service etc... The birthday girl kept insisting that we'd booked when a more senior staff member then appeared. Yes, he knew about the booking and "Just had to shove a few tables together". He led us outside and we all then stood around in the blazing sun for about 10 minutes while he was rearranging furniture. He pushed three round tables together. Of course, there weren't enough seats and we were really cramped. Some of the party had to move to a nearby table so the group got split up and we were not able to sit together - the whole point of the event! We had booked (and ordered) so far in advance with the not unreasonable expectation that our table would be prepared and laid etc on arrival. And we assumed we'd all be able to sit together. Sadly, this wasn't the case and the whole thing seemed very disorganised. The food was also decidedly underwhelming and the portions weren't exactly generous. (My meal consisted of one slice of roast pork, three small stems of broccoli and about a two inch square serving of dauphinoise potatoes. I was still hungry!) All in all, a very disappointing experience.

User

The setting, ambiance and food is great. But the service is average and slow. We went for lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon and chose a table outside. You have to go to the bar to order any food. Convenient location, so we will return.

User

Have been a few times loved it, until yesterday, Six of us went there, three people wanted the triple roast but, one of the meats and half the veg wasn't available. We did get a reduction on the bill but we would rather have had the dinner. Will probably give them one more try as that may have been a bad day for them.

User

Visited today after a long day at Legoland. This place had so much potential. Beautiful location, great surroundings, good atmosphere and lovely garden. Unfortunately the food was mediocre and the staff member we had was awful! Such a shame.

User

Needs more bar staff....takes forever to get a drink no matter what time you visit. Food is always good however the outside space would be better used if they offered table service....on hot days people que out the door to try get a drink at the bar

User

It was our first time here and it’s a lovely location but the food was very disappointing and the service satisfactory. I ordered the sea bass which was okay if just a little overdone, my partner ordered a medium rare fillet steak (so not cheap) which was extremely overdone, it was no less than well done with not an ounce of pink to it. I personally would have complained but no one came back to check on our meals and he was so hungry my partner just ate it. Certainly not what you would expect for an almost £25 dish

User

Bad experience for the first time it's gone down hill... Bad service, over priced, wife's food cold and forgot the side order. Mine was like a £9 pannini in a garage..will not eat there again.

User

Just had a very disappointing meal with abysmal service! When ordering we asked if the roast chicken was served on or off the bone (one of our party doesn't like meat on the bone), we were told the chicken was slices and not on the bone, when the food was served the chicken came on the bone!!!! We asked them to rectify this, they just pulled the bone out and threw it back on the plate! We were offered free coffees as an apology! We then ordered more drinks, my green tea was so over brewed it was undrinkable, the wrong martini was then bought over and then they bought over the wrong coke! The waitress was barely listening so kept making mistakes! We asked for the chicken to be taken off the bill as it was eaten and the waitress argued with us and said we had our free hot drinks..... one of which was undrinkable and one never arrived! She was then very stroppy with us!! The food wasn't great either, chicken was dry and over cooked, the roast beef was like leather and the trio of roasts was missing the pork! Overall Disgraceful
