Although small (5 acres) the garden is packed with interest. The garden includes drought and boggy areas and the plantings are based on the principle of the right plant in the right place. I have visited in Spring, Summer and Autumn and it never disappoints. You can buy the plants you see in the garden from the attached nursery.

Thoroughly enjoyed my day here. Got lots of ideas for ground cover which I need at the moment. Tea rooms are lovely with the most amazing cakes. Will definitely revisit soon.

One of the best gardens I have ever seen. The "tea room" is excellent - layout food service and prices unbeatable. Shop is the only feature which needs to be improved.

Great place to visit, lovely large gardens split into different styles. The woodland and pond areas are particularly good.

Tea rooms and garden centre also attached where you can but some of the plants you've just seen in the garden it self.

A fairly small garden at seven acres but it is well thought out with good planting combinations which you can copy at home by buying identical plants from the adjoining nursery. For those that want to take there time and soak up the pleasant atmosphere there are plenty of benches dotted about.
The tea room appeared spacious and clean with a good variety of hot and cold food and there was ample parking a short walk from the entrance.

Lovely gardens, the cheese scone in the cafe was very tasty and the plants on sale were first class!

We visited couple of weeks ago, could only use tea shop had lovely snack & coffee didn't have time to visit gardens then, came back yesterday wasn't disappointed they were beautiful, the settings, the lakes. The history and the hard work involved definitely come back again, and the tea shop was lovely very clean, lovely food. Paula from clacton.

We only called in to use the coffee shop on this occasion which was very pleasant with friendly staff and delicious cakes. We peeped over the wall and could see how delightful the gardens looked but we didn't have time to look round them on this occasion - they are £6.95 to enter. There is a large car park with picnic benches if you bring your own food too.

An incredible day out with an amazing variety of wildlife and picture opportunities. There were numerous shaded spots to relax and pore over our pictures. The tea room was a welcome, although pricey, addition to a great trip!
