Only 5 star as thats the highest...Absolutely fantastic service today, they went out of there way to help us choose the correct size bike for our son (after being let down by Evans Cycles and then offering us the wrong size bike just to get our custom) even offering to build a bike up so he could try the size, can not recommend these any higher fantastic service really looked after us. Thank you very much 👍👍👍

Wow, what a bike, the Diamond back Lux 27.5 Ht Embt (currently on offer) whilst being an entry level bike has everything you need for your daily commute and more. My 30 min journey to and from work is now down to 20min with the help of the power from the battery. After 5 days cycling to and from and being 56 years of age I still feel fresh and energized, riding predominantly with a massive smile. Any incline disappears to nothing using the various levels of power.
Thoughts of coming off my bike for the winter have gone
This is step change forward for bikes and riders a like.
Watch out when cornering as you will be going so fast that you might catch pedals on the floor
Many thanks to the team at the Bike Factory: fantastic store with fantastic people.

Excellent service given, and very prompt in sorting out my cycle repairs. Staff were professional, friendly, and down to earth. Decent selection of bikes and kit in the shop. Recommended.

Shop itself is fine, but your staff should refrain from leaving 1 star reviews of other bike shops with no explanations, and especially not when they haven't even been to the other bike shops! Bad form!

Jake Hutchinson is a living legend. He and his awesome team fixed my bike's back wheel for just 2 pounds whereas other shops couldn't or would have charged me a lot more.

I am very grateful for their service and support!

Bunch of legends who work here - really knowledgeable and passionate about bikes. It was my 'local' bike shop, whilst living up North. Called in whilst cycling John O'Groats to Lands End back in June 2017. They sorted me out with some minor repairs and marginally 'out of date' energy foods (all for free - see picture). Would not hesitate to use this shop again, service with the upmost integrity and passion. G

I now find myself working in London, so now take the train from Chester as often as I can, however travelling on the London underground in the summer is not a pleasant experience, chatting with Phil, at The Bike factory, he suggested I try a folding bike. I had noticed a lot of commuters travelling with these things but never actually considered one! So without question I was offered a Brompton to try.

Not really knowing what to expect, as a life long cyclist I have ridden bikes with much bigger wheels for well over 45 years, but wow I was so surprised how well it rides.

I had the Brompton for a couple of days whilst working at the Silverstone circuit, it was great, the bike folds into a very small bundle but becomes a bike in less than 15 seconds, following a simple 5 step sequence. Once the bike is built it rides well, and proves to be very agile which was great whilst riding among the thousands of Moto GP fans,. The demo bike was fitted with 6 speeds which was well suited to all the conditions over the weekend.

With a track that covers just over 3 miles I was able to cover well over 25 miles during the weekend meeting and greeting customers, who all commented on the Brompton. I was also surprised on how many other Brompton riders I found myself talking to over the weekend.

This Brompton is a credit to British engineering, and clearly benefits from its production for the last 38 years.

Big thanks for the Demo Guys, Which I know will end up with me costing me money now I have the bug!

Great local bike shop! The staff are really friendly and knowledgable. The range of bikes and kit is extensive. Parking available down the closest side to road.

As a complete novice cyclist I was made to feel at home as soon as I entered the store. The staff could not do enough for me & explained everything in layman's terms (even down to the minor details of a full explanation of how to change my tyres & an in store practice of clipping in & out) I had not experienced service like this in any other store. They even helped me out to my car with the bike. The range of products is excellent & the staff have a wealth of knowledge & helped me narrow down to my chosen bike. I had shopped around prior to coming to The Bike Factory but no other store compared to the range & service they provided. Thank you The Bike Factory, I will definitely be back!

After a relatively short ride on my ancient Raleigh Caprice, the gear cable came loose.. so i dropped into the bike Factory and Jamie came to my rescue.. took it into the workshop and 5-10 mins later I was back on the road, no charge.. It's that kind of service which will ensure my next purchase will be from them. Jamies smile was well worth the visit too! ;)

Had to pop in on Tuesday for a pitstop. Encountered friendly, knowledgable staff in both the workshop and out front. They did my repair immediately, and texted me when completed (we were in cafe 100 yards away). Not expensive either. Bang on.

Always helpful, helped me with a nut and bolt for my Mondraker today, very good knowledgable staff I would highly recommend.

I spent £2000 on a new bike about five weeks ago and have covered approx 1500 miles on it.

Overall I regret my purchase because although I did have a very short test ride (in the rain) I did not have even a cursory bike fitting or size appraisal during my purchase and consequently ended up with a frame that is probably too large for me. My rides can become quite uncomfortable after as little as 15km and during longer rides a lot of shoulder and upper neck pain has to be endured. That can make it difficult to look over the shoulder to check for traffic or to check indexing. The discomfort can last a day or two after a long (200k) ride.

Why didn't I have a proper bike sizing? Well, I never asked for one (my error) and was not offered one when in the shop (shops' error?). I did request the frame size that I ended up with because that's what was indicated on the manufacturers website for people in my height range, but even so I think when you are about to splash out £2000+ the sales person could at least whip out a tape measure just to double check that what you've said you think will fit will actually fit properly. Indeed, before leaving the shop with my new bike the sales person had the seatpost cut down to allow little bit more adjustment (it was at it's minimum height and against the seat pin). I should have recognized this as a red flag in respect of fit.

All my previous bikes have been hybrids - this is my first drop bar bike so it could be that riding this style of machine would result in discomfort regardless of frame size but as it is there is very little scope for size adjustments to allow experimentation with riding position to prove otherwise.

When initially inquiring about the bike I was interested in I spoke to a particular person in the shop via telephone and that person indicated that they could arrange a short test ride AND check the bike for fit. However, when I actually visited the shop I dealt with a different person so that was something else that went wrong, always best to deal with the same person as you can build a better relationship that way. That's especially important for non - assertive / unconfident shoppers like me.

I haven't discussed this issue with the shop because I don't feel confident to do so and doubt that there could be a positive outcome - I've bought the wrong size frame, ridden it a fair distance and will just have to make the best of it.

The purpose of this review is not to lay blame but just to reinforce how important it is to have at least a basic bike fit (things like stand over clearance and saddle height / bar reach etc) before purchase or else you might end up spending a whole lot of money and regret it.

Excellent service, knowledge and value for money from The Bike Factory - yet again!. The advice from Andy was superb and made it easy for us to choose the best mountain bike solution for my 14 year old. Cracking local business that values its customers. Highly recommend their services to anyone thinking about buying any cycling products. Thanks & keep up the good work The Bike Factory.
