Wonderful little bistro, super food, decor and service. I loved the famous ploughman's on a plank and my husband and children adored the home made pizzas. Highly recommend and will come back when we next visit Devon!

What a fabulous place to sit and watch the world go by. The service was fantastic and the food was yummy....savoury cream tea as opposed to the sweet variety, a much welcome alternative. A return visit a must. Thank you x

Visited yesterday and had the best Cream Tea we have ever had and we have had afew. The scones were light not heavy and the staff were lovely and welcoming. The atmosphere was chilled and the deco was great. We will return.

The very luxury Gidleigh Park just a few minutes away recommended the Birdcage to us - as they couldn't make us a cup of tea! Their loss, our gain. Gorgeous, cosy, pretty interior. Doggie friendly. Delicious food, charming, friendly service. Right in the centre of the village. Just perfect. Visit if you're in the area. And there's free wifi!

The best hot chocolate I have EVER tasted. A beautiful little place in the heart of Chagford. Will definitely be back!

Popped in after a walk with the dog, had a lovely hot, hot chocolate and tea cake and even the dog was fed a few biscuits! Lovely place!

Lovely little gem tucked away. Friendly staff, delightful decor, and delicious cream tea (we would have had more, but we were late!). Looking forward to our next trip to Chagford.

Lovely cafe on the square in Chagford. The cream teas are terrific quality and excellent value. Proper leaf tea, freshly baked scones, generous bowls of thick, thick clotted cream & jam. Quirky decor and great staff. The cakes look amazing too, we may be back for those...

Great cafe - fab for take away food at lunch time, only place in Chagford where you can get a take away jacket spud & salad. My favourite thing by far is their bacon, salmon, cream cheese & mango chutney sandwich! The best combo ever, would highly recommend! Always a friendly welcome from Simon, Ali & Andreea xx Alice

Gorgeous little cafe, with really good food. The portions were really generous, the picnic platter easily fed two, and the portions of jam and cream for the cream teas were HUGE!! This was great, as I've often run out of one or the other. The staff were really friendly and chatty, and knew about the food being sold. Overall, a wonderful experience, will DEFINITELY be back, but will definitely book ahead, as it was so busy!!! Thanks guys!!

Fabulous friendly rustic place for a leisurely lunch and coffee...we come here regularly and are always made to feel welcome and end up striking a conversation with other guests....

Absolutely the best coffee in Chagford with a unique & unparalleled atmosphere. You must try their Mocha available in dark, milk or white chocolate...

A friendly welcome greated us when we found this village for a break whilst travelling from North to South Devon. Earl Grey tea in little pots and no pressure to buy lunch. Food looked good on the menu so likely to re-visit if ever in the area on holiday again.
