Wow, great evening at the opening night of The Blind Monkey, looking forward to trying the menu next week.

A successful night with a great team of staff who clearly worked so hard, well done to you all 5 stars from us x

User

What they’ve done to the old Firwood Cottage is amazing, definitely the best looking pub in Sheffield, Good selection of drinks including Coffee & tea for those not wanting Alcohol.

There’s a decent sized out door area with heated & covered seating, it also looks like they’ve got a bar out there & a TV screen, brilliant for watching the World Cup over the summer possibly?

User

What a transformation; the pub looks fantastic and the level of detail is amazing. Can’t wait to have a few beers in that garden when the suns out.

User

What a lovely place! Lovely that we can take out dog too. The bar staff and chef were really lovely and helpful and the food was great! The decor is beautiful and the outside area is brilliant! See you Saturday!!

User

What a job you’ve done. Superb decor, stunning lighting and super friendly staff. Great opening night - really looking forward to trying the food this week. Great place to have on our doorstep!

User

The pub had been beautifully refurbished and is a great boost to Walkley. Staff are brilliant and very welcoming. The beers etc are excellent and competively priced, not tried all the food yet, but the pizza is truly authentic and the best I've had in Sheffield!

User

Sunday lunch in the sunshine with the grt hospitality of the lovely staff here ! Just loving this pub every visit ! Food was fantastic too

User

Such a welcome amazing addition to walkley! Fantastic staff, pizzas brilliant and staff so welcoming. Every detail has been thought of and id recommend it to all. Heres to the new local!!

User

Stunning pub!! Called today with my partner and met with friends. Decor is stunning and well made. Staff are amazing and very welcoming. Food was delicious and well presented. We will be calling again.

User

Oh wowwwww....what a fantastic place, Walkley needed a classy pub & oh boy, now we've got one, the decor is amazing & the outside seating area is lovely, the staff are very friendly & helpful... loved the place,

User

A really nice addition to Walkley, offering something different to other excellent spots nearby like the Blake Hotel and Beer Company. The interior is all wood panels and period features, while the beer garden outside will be great on a nice day. Tried the stone baked pizza, which was on a par with the city's specialist pizzerias, and a proper home made bean-burger - both were a cut above the average Sheffield pub food. I suspect the kitchen is still adjusting to demand as the tempting looking fish and chips had sold out. Beer (Bradfield brewery etc.) seemed reasonably priced for an upmarket pub, and it looks like a nice spirits collection. We live a few minutes away so can walk, but I expect this place will draw folk from further afield, so I hope parking and noise don't become an issue for nearer neighbours. It's certainly worth a visit, whether for drinks or food.

User

A breath of fresh air in terms of new bars/pubs in Sheffield. Great decor, deceptively large beer garden, great beers and nice tunes. Welcome addition to walkley.

User

The ambience is great. The best burger for a long time and possibly the best chips ever. Alcohol priced as per city centre. Thankfully no city centre type clientele just good people having a good time. Will definately visit again

User

Dropped in for one and ended up having three :) Shame the stout ran out just as I got to it but other yummy beers were on hand. The Firwood was nice but this is nicer.

User

Beautiful unique place! It's like a tiny museum. Lovely female barmaid, she handled pressure very well when dealing with a lot of customers. I just don't understand how I paid £2.50 for half a pint of Pepsi. Surely that should be for a PINT? Sat outside in the garden where I felt very awkward as nobody was talking outside, it was more whispering asif they didn't want to draw attention/ or be themselves and felt pressure by other customer's to be quiet and "classy." 4 star review

User

The place looks good inside. Great outdoor area. However, I’m not sure who the market is directed at?! It’s sort of gastro-pub decor meets Wetherspoon’s clientele. I wouldn’t go to a Wetherspoons. Maybe we came at the wrong time?!? Needs a few issues with food order sorting out and a few more smiles from the staff wouldn’t go amiss. Fingers crossed it’s teething troubles as the place has good potential. Extremely small pub however. You won’t be able to hear yourself think/have a conversation if you’re sat in the front room when it’s full (which it was constantly) and the music is on. Beer, lager, gin, whisky options good and reasonably priced. Food ok, will give it another try when the full menu is available. Hopefully will be a better experience, if not we won’t be rushing back.

User

NIce beer garden-Expensive drinks and tried to order food but won't accept order at 7.35pm (advertised food available until 8pm) because they're busy, j definitely won't be coming back, don't bother!!!!

User

Refused a second bottle of Barolo after my partner pointed out how cheap it was. This after we had already put around £60 over the bar. The manager was so rude about it that at first we thought he was joking - kept telling us that he would need to conduct a price review and offering us inferior alternatives. Not sure that this is the correct way to engage locals in a local pub on a Wednesday evening. Will certainly think twice before going there again. Walked out in disgust after several attempts to hand money over the bar. We even shared the previous bottle with the bar staff and bought a team member a drink once he had finished his shift. Unbelievable!

User

I visited the blind monkey last night with a friend and we ordered 2 pizzas which where laced with salt it was not only dangerous but totally inedible

When we had them taken away and complained

we had a to waited half an hour when nobody came to see is about a replacement or a refund we had to go to the bar to ask for a refund

I think the bar staff need some lessons in customer relations the attitude was absolutely shocking .

When we were ordering the pizza we asked if we could have some garlic and chilies on it but were informed by a very rude member of staff that the chef does not keep garlic or chilies in his kitchen And we were informed by the same member of staff that it was ONLY a pub and not a restaurant !!!!
