My friend and I went to see the Robbie William tribute act last night (Carl Briggs) what can I say 'he was amazing' a brilliant night from the very start, he was fantastic and got everyone involved. I will definitely be back to see him again! Food was lovely (would like a desert next time please lol) the room was decorated perfect and the atmosphere was spot on 5 stars guys and more if I could! Hired a function room for a Hen Party of around 50 crazy Hens with the room, food, and DJ with karaoke supplied by The Blue Bell this last Saturday, and everything was fab! Room was a great size, we had 5 tables of 10 as well as a large dancefloor area, buffet area, and DJ booth, and were allowed to put up our own decorations and set up the tables exactly as we wanted. The DJ was so accommodating, great mix of oldies and up to date music, and he allowed us to interrupt him and even take over his microphone to play some daft team games! Food was delicious and there was even enough for doggy bags which the staff kindly sorted for us. Karaoke set up was on a big screen tv, and bar was just outside of the function room with friendly bar staff and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend! Thanks to all the staff involved! 😆

Lovely dinner, bit stingy with the meat thought, woman was a bit like can't give you too much, might lose my job. cut meat with a razor blade lol. Apart from that it was lovely.

We've stayed here a number of times before and enjoyed the fact that we were able to get the connecting rooms as family with young children, and able to use the restaurant/pub. However one evening we went down to have tea before going to a party at about 5 only to be told you weren't serving food until 5.30, seamed odd. But then we had to rush and go somewhere else to get our food, then on the Sunday after being told the day before the time of food being served went down after that time to be told not serving food now. So there is no consistency where it comes to serving food and as one of my children is disabled we will definitely think twice before booking with you in the future.

Very inexperienced bar staff. I agree in any job you have to be taught what to do, so I suggest a old school barmaid overseeing the young staff. Have 1 person on the cash till sorting the bills out , then you have barmaid or barman available to pull over drinks for the customer in the queue waiting. The blue bell is a very nice place to chill out, but needs to learn by silly mistakes. Not only me but the company around me picked up on inexperienced service.

Stayed there last night. Bed/bedding fine. Room could do with a freshen up.

Sink coming away from the wall slightly(bracket supporting it needs repositioning of adjusted and some fresh silicone sealant)

Advertises as serving food till 21:45,however, when queried at the bar I was told that it stopped at 9 o'clock so I didn't fuck about, had a beer then went to the Esso garage/Tesco express across the road for the £3 meal deal( chicken salad sub/crisps and a can of relentless) Grabbed a few beers whilst I was over there(better range of beers and customer service)

Got the impress that certain members of staff just can't be arsed.

Breakfast was fine enough.

Would I return? Even as a cheap overnight stop on the way to somewhere nicer, probably not

Management of the the bluebell hang your heads in shame. The George Michael tribute act was not as advertised - he looked nothing like him and the whole room thought he was the DJ. The bars were woefully understaffed and the lack of any chilled wine/prosecco or any ice buckets was a schoolboy error. Complete waste of money but thank god I’ve not got a Christmas party here.

I attended a Michael Bublė tribute at The Blue Bell Hotel. The entertainment was excellent and I would have gladly awarded 5 points for this however the bar service was absolutely shocking. There was a sporting event of some kind taking place in the bar, it was extremely full yet bar staff seemed very sparse, unable to cope with the volume of customers and in my unfortunate experience very rude and confrontational. I had gone outside to use my Ecig and I then went to the bar for a drink before returning to the function room (which does not have a bar) Whilst I was at the bar with my purse and Ecig in my hand, a male member of the bar staff (who indecently wasn't serving me) saw my Ecig in my hand and sharply told me "you couldn't use it in here" . I was very taken aback by this as it is my experience that the use of Ecigs is forbidden in all public buildings. This was rather embarrassing and unnecessary and served only for him to reinforce his authority. As a 51 year old lady I had assumed my days of being "told off" were well and truly behind me. I explained to him that I had in fact just been outside and that I had no intention of using it inside to which he replied "well you've got it in your hand" I further explained that the reason I had it in my hand was because I did not have any pockets. It begs the question, if he'd seen a man at the bar with cigarettes and a lighter in hand would he challenge him in this way? I think not. This will definitely make me think twice about frequenting The Blue Bell Hotel in future.

Lessons should therefore be learned.

1. Employ adequate bar staff to cope with organised functions and sporting events.

2. Do not feed your "Napolean complex" by embarrassing ladies who have no intention of doing any wrong.
