Brilliant pub with friendly staff, excellent food and drink and a lovely warm fire to dry off at after walking on the nearby fells. There's even a stack of games you can play while you're there.

Amazing and wonderful people who could not do enough for us. Travelling from Ben Nevis and booked in for a meal for 8 of us, we realised that we would not be there in time, by 8 pm. We were in constant contact with them giving updates as to our progress. So, 8 was reduced to 2 and even then we were not within the kitchen hours. Our supper was kept for us and served with a beaming smile and anything else we wanted, pudding, cheeses etc... I cannot praise highly enough the unnecessary extras that the staff went to for us considering that they are not a big chain group.
The room and bed and super soft, large towels were wonderful and so comfortable. I cannot rate this venue highly enough.😊😊😊

Really cosy country pub, with super friendly staff, a log fire and a very relaxed vibe. Great place to stop off after a long walk.

Unfortunately we were denied one of the many tables available outside because it was 5 minutes past 7pm. Luckily there was another pub just around the corner where we were amazingly served. We just wanted a coffee and a sticky toffee pudding to end our stay in the Lake District. We won't go back to this place for sure.

Beautiful location. Very peaceful. The boot inn is a very charming Inn. The room was very nice with a big comfy bed. What more do you need? Anita and Stuart are the perfect hosts. Stuarts curries are top. We took our dog and he was made very welcome. We will definitely be be visiting this lovely place again.

Great location with a massive beer garden. Excellent food and a great selection of real ales! Less than 10 minutes walk from the miniature railway.

Travelled up from London to climb Scafell Pike and after the 7 hour journey booked into this B&B. So, here is my honest assessment: first impression was how incredibly friendly, polite and accommodating the staff were. We arrived after they stopped serving food, but made us a hot meal from the menu. Portion sizes were more than adequate, dessert was out-of-this-world. Even the other guests were friendly and welcoming! Room was comfortable, peaceful (you can actually hear owls if you sleep with the window open). Soft beds, warm duvets, extra blanket, very clean bathroom. Quiet, cosy. The staff even accommodated our breakfast one hour earlier than usual because we wanted to leave early to climb the mountain. I mean, how many B&B's would do that for you?
If you are wanting to spend the night in an EXCELLENT little hotel to do some mountain climbing, please make this your first and only choice. You will *not* regret it. Absolutely brilliant: room, food, staff.... everything. Cannot say one word against it.
