The food was great, wonderful service and friendly staff, Mick behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a visit as it was extremely good value for money too. Xx
Just got back after having my 40th birthday meal, very friendly staff and will definitely going again in the near future. I would recommend this place, good food and good atmosphere.
Visit this place quite regular with friends and family...Went to have lunch with a friend today and as always the food was delish. .... (admittedly the food took a while to come after ordering, but this happens in most places I've been) .The staff were as attentive as always and very pleasant. I'll be back next week with another couple of friends...Mmmm
Tried the pizzas last night and have to say they were amazing. Not your bog standard pepperoni or meat feast but that is good. The Chicken Katsu is different, having a curry base but the taste was wonderful. Be prepared to have your mouth on fire with the Herd it all Beef-ore....plenty of red chillies on this one.
My only criticism was the time we had to wait for our food to come but if you have time, enjoy a drink and you won't be disappointed.
Friendly staff, good food & drink, makes for a good night.
I was somewhat perturbed by some of the latest reviews (which i read while waiting for the main course) but I needn't have been. It wasnt perfect, waiting time for the mains for example, but on the whole the food was good and the staff were all very pleasant and attentive. Yes they need more staff but we all left full and happy which is what you want. (3rd April 2018, 18:10-20:10)
Gave this another go after the closure and rebranding and have to say it is a hell of a lot better than it was and we will try it again in the future! Food was good and took long enough to arrive to allow us to believe it isn't just warmed up pre cooked food as we suspected was the case on previous visits. We enjoyed it a lot and the service was very good too. Well done.
After a mix of good and bad experiences, we still returned for our 4th visit, which was pretty average.
The staff have always been a friendly bunch and today was no different.
The food however is what frequently lets the place down I'm afraid.
The prawn cocktail was an awful mess of wet slimy mushy prawns that may have been the cause of an upset stomach, but I'm not going to point the finger.
The gammon was so salty that I had to check my blood pressure when I got home.
On a good note, the steak sandwich was rather nice and the nachos were very tasty indeed.
Will probably come back for a 5th visit, but will definitely avoid the prawn cocktail and the gammon.
We go to the brickworks regularly though after today, we will not be back. Arrived at 4.15pm today and the place fairly empty (only us and 5 other tables throughout the pub) we were seated and ordered within 10 mins (one waitress was fab by the way and very polite, our main waitress however left a lot to be desired in customer services) however our food did not arrive for over an hour. When it did it was arrive my partner's meal being barely edible (chicken goujon burger barely warmed through and soaked in so much bbq sauce it was swimming on the plate.) It then took another 20+ mins for our plates to be cleared away. We asked for the bill twice, it never arrived before we went to the bar to pay. We never understood why people used to complain about it here as in the last 2 years we had never had a bad experience but after this evening i can totally understand how its losing custom.
Food is okay but the wait is always appalling, even if itβs quiet. Wouldnβt mind if was amazing homemade fresh good quality food but itβs clearly not especially then the Willows serve the same food in a good time frame. 50 min wait for a sandwich and a burger with no apologises for wait time totally unacceptable.
After hearing numerous bad reviews i have been put off coming for quite some time, but thought id see for myself. We got there at 5.25 and it was 8pm before we left. 2 and half hours is ridiculous especially when you have two small children with you. When we ordered i ordered a mixed grill for myself and a burger for my daughter, there was no mixed grill so had to order gammon. An what came for my daughter was a piece of chicken breast on a burger bun not a chicken burger. The food was ok when it finally came, my partner did say his steak was cooked lovely but other than that wasnt a good experience. Wouldnt recommend this place especially if you have kids with you. Waiting time is far to long.
Wouldnβt even give this place a 1 star. The staff are so rude, never felt in a more awkward place whilst going out for dinner with a couple of friends. We got the Camembert dip and rip starter, and the cheese was not melted inside and was cold, we kindly just asked for them to melt it for a little while longer (not asking for a fresh one) and the rude staff came an approached us saying there was nothing wrong with it and to just leave it and have our mains. So we cancelled all our meals and just paid for the 1 drink we had. Wouldnβt ever come back here. Horrendous
Wouldnβt even give them a 1 rating. Awful service, awful staff, awful food. Everything arrived an hour late and stone cold. Steaks missing off the plate. One steak was freezing cold, they expected the full Β£80.00. We brought to their attention that there was a steak missing off the mixed grill and they accused us of lying. We ordered bacon as an extra for our burgers, and they never came with any on, and then they tried charging us for it. They didnβt even hesitate when we told them we wasnβt paying the full amount so they knew it wasnβt right but they tried it on. We never complain anywhere we go, but that was terrible.
Went tonight and it's was awful food took over a hour to arrive and when it did it was freezing cold Was sent bk and when I got it it was so over done I couldn't eat it no service what so ever I will never go here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone
The staff are absolutely fantastic and the food is brilliant. The reason for one star is that since the rebrand and new menu arrived the wait for food is ridiculous. We waited almost an hour for food and even longer the time before that. Not normally such a problem but when you have a very ill friend with you who can't stay so long and had to leave while we were eating it defied the whole object of us getting together. Again no fault at all of the staff it's the management's fault since there blatantly isn't enough staff on the floor for the size of the place. This needs to change or sadly they'll continue to lose business. I'm really disappointed since we all loved going there before.
Poor quality food that was barely warm. Waited an hour for our food which was not worth it AT ALL! My chicken was over cooked a nearly black and then smothered in BBQ sauce just to make the coating softish again. This place wasnβt even busy it was really quiet so couldnβt understand the slowness in service. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Just been here for lunch and can honestly say that it was appalling and so was the customer service!
The vegetarian options were very limited to start with but I eventually thought Iβd settle for the Corgetti and Butternut Squash Frittata. The service was incredibly slow, when the meal eventually arrived it didnβt look very appetising but I thought Iβve ordered it so will have to eat it. Straight away I realised there wasnβt any garlic on the potatoes, the broccoli was cold, as in not cooked cold, not just cool (my wife had garlic on her potatoes and her broccoli was warm- not hot but at least it had seen hot water!)
The waitress came round so I told her, she apologised and took my meal away, reappearing with it about 10 minutes later once it had been microwaved and garlic butter added! (Still no cheese sauce that it states on the menu!)
I decided to try the potatoβs first, the garlic butter theyβd added had been heated up far too much and was really sour tasting! I decided to go to the bar to complain. The man at the bar didnβt even look me in the eye while I spoke to him and then walked off saying heβd sort it. Then the waitress eventually reappeared with a small dish of fresh garlic butter. I told her I didnβt want fresh, the butter on the potatoes was bitter so covering it with other butter wouldnβt do anything. So she disappeared and nothing else was done!!!
Eventually I got fed up of waiting and went to the bar again. The man at the bar (still refusing to give me eye contact) said that Iβd told him I would like fresh garlic butter! Why would I do that when the potatoes weed already tainted with sour butter??? I told him theyβd had 3 attempts to sort my meal out but instead Iβve just had to make do with eating my side order!! He wasnβt apologetic at all! I asked why my food was nothing like what was stated on the menu, he just shrugged. He admitted that the frittataβs are bought in frozen and arenβt served with cheese sauce (although it says they are in the menu) he said that theyβre made with cheese sauce?!?! Thatβs like me selling a quiche and saying it comes with egg, when in actual fact it is made with egg!!
All he did in the end was subtract it from the bill, but as Iβd not eaten it I wasnβt willing to pay anyway!!
Still no apology!
Very stressful lunch experience (I say lunch, but I only had a side order) and no apology.
One Star is forced generosity as I couldnβt give zero!!
It doesn't deserve even one star in my opinion. I came with a friend a couple of weeks ago it took over an hour to get our food which wasn't the best
Last night my son and his girlfriend decided to stay in Accy instead of going to Bury or Manchester to eat. They came to the brickworks. My son tried to order pizza but was told there was no dough left to make one. He decided on a mixed grill and said it was hard dried up and he left left most of it. It took them well over an hour to get their food and whilst they were trying to eat he noticed other people were being served pizza.
It's such a shame because when it first opened the food was cooked well served quickly and eating there was an enjoyable experience. That's at least 4 customers you have lost until you sort it out
I came last year and it was brilliant but after coming today for Father's Day I will not be coming back! We waited over 2 hours for our food to arrive and people who came in like 30 min after us were getting there food before us and when ours eventually arrived my chicken was still pink and everything was burnt and bone dry and cold even my 2 year old didn't eat much of his as it was all burnt and the manager was useless and didn't even apologise I felt more sorry for the waitress as she was lovely and so apologetic but I wouldn't recommend this place to any one it's gone down hill so fast!
Have been previously and the staff were great. Went yesterday and it took an hour after I had to chase them just to receive our starters with no apologies from the staff. Food is good for the price but customer service is awful. Think they need some valuable lessons.
