My name is Cara, I am a FEDANT accredited doula (sometimes known as a qualified birth partner), supporting families through pregnancy, birth and postnatally. I am also a woman, a mother, a partner, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. Since having an extremely positive birth experience with my youngest child I have become motivated to support and empower women to birth their babies, their way!

I am passionate about helping women have an empowering and positive birth experience. By offering baby-centred continuous emotional and practical support, to you and your family, I aim to nurture and encourage you during pregnancy, birth and postnatally.

Whilst working with me you will gain non-judgemental companionship, experience consistency of care throughout this special time and feel confident in your ability to be the parent you want to be.

During your pregnancy I will help to prepare you for your birth by supporting you to make informed choices for your baby, discussing your birth preferences, practicing positions for birth and exploring techniques for managing pain. We will work together to help you to trust your instincts, listen to your body and understand your baby’s journey.

At the birth of your baby I will work in partnership with birth-partners and medical staff to assist with pain relief, support and encourage you to let go of fear, and trust in your body’s abilities to birth your baby.

As your postnatal doula I will lighten the load, both emotional and practical, so that you have time to get to know your baby and adjust to your life as a new parent, be that with your first or subsequent baby.

I offer various doula services from full birth packages to occasional prenatal and postnatal support including Closing the Bones experiences and birth pool hire.
