British Model Soldier National Collection now housed at The British Ironwork Centre.
We have now been certified as the official home of The British Model Soldier Society’s National Collection.
With over 40,000 miniature hand-painted soldiers now proudly on display in our showroom, we hope to invite historians and history enthusiasts from across the country to visit this impressive display of British history and legacy.
... The collection which was founded in 1974 has had many homes over the years including Blenheim Palace!!
We wanted to ensure that families and children could see the collection before they go back to school and really is fascinating to see the detail in each individual model.
In future we are hoping to run an event whereby we invite history teachers from around the region to view the installation and meet the head of the society, himself.

We had a fantastic time attending the The Legendary Llangollen Faery Festival this weekend! We think it was the festivals biggest turnout to date! Hundreds flocked to celebrate all things faery!!
... From the day time activities and live music, the hundreds of stall holder who had visited from near and far, a great weekend was had by all. We supported this year by providing the seating for the food court and couldn't have been more thrilled to be invited to attend the Grand Faery Ball!
Also in attendance were the Shropshire Fairy princess and her Prince. Ella Parry and Riley Jones. They dressed to impress their subjects in all of their fairy Finery and the Fairy Prince wore his wood elf outfit!! We hope you and your families had a fantastic time at the fairy festival!
A huge congratulations also to Fiona, who organised a fantastic event this year! No doubt she will be resting this week after pulling out all of the stops!

Yet another fun day at the ironworks. Always so much going on and many different events throughout the year. Really great place to take the family. Fun for all ages.

User

We loved every minute of our day. There are some stunning pieces but my favourite has to be the knife Angle, which is just devastating and beautiful all at the same time. I would recommend a visit to any one!!

User

Visited here today with my 11 year old and his friend.

They loved looking around all of the quirky models.

I loved the fact there is lots of space outdoors to explore. The staff in the cafe were also polite and lovely.

Will be visiting again soon

User

Very well run centre, always a friendly, cheerful and interesting place to visit, everyone there is committed to making your visit enjoyable.

The centre hosts some large events and these are organised very well but without being over regulated.

The products they sell are very good quality and unique, the food in the café is also very good. The centre would benefit from the proposed new toilet block.

User

This place is a hidden gem if ever there was one.

Great place and the food (did take a while to arrive) but there was a big car meeting on, was lovely. And the cakes WOW.

The sculptures are just amazing.

GO, is all I can say.

User

This is run by a small Charity and can be found on the outskirts of Oswestry. There are workshops, amasing examples of the metal workers art and a brilliant coffee shop. In the latter you can often enjoy listening to live music.

Sadly the charity is struggling to keep this superb landmark open.

If you have never been, take time out from your busy schedule and support your local craftsmen and women.

The drive up to the parking area was calm and breathtaking.

A truly beautiful day weather wise, we could admire the masterpieces on show as some glistened in the sun.

What a welcome to boot.

So much to see and do for all ages topped with being disable friendly. Time to relax in a wonderful setting. Spot on easy listening live background music. Many enjoying the day, relaxing, others freely exploring the grounds admiring what was on show.

This is a must for all. Get outside. Enjoy the art that is on display. Look forward to our next visit, it’s one of those ‘must visit places’, along with, ‘must go back place’.

User

Really first class - beautiful art and a place well worth taking the time to see. Expected to be there an hour, was there more like three.

User

If you have a couple of hours to spare I would definitely visit, you will be amazed at the quality and detail of these individual items.

Also has a cafeteria serving cakes, sandwiches, light meals and drinks.

User

I would like to say thank you so much to the staff today. I went with relatives for afternoon tea, the staff catered for my dietary requirements and the food was excellent along with the service. Thank you so much

User

I purchased the white, freestanding, lockable post box from British Ironwork Centre for my business - Eternally Yours Wedding & Prom Services. Delivery was very quick. The postbox is extremely well made and arrived in immaculate condition. As a wedding dressing business, I would definately be using the British Ironwork Centre again.

Fantastic to visit!

Visited the centre with my Mother, and it did not disappoint.

Wonderful and unexpected ambience, very helpful staff, who were pleasant and went above and beyond to assist.

Truly enjoyable experience and will be visiting this 'little gem in the countryside' again in the very near future, as should you if you have not visited yet!

Thank you very much for all your assistance and support, during our visit it was/is greatly appreciated xx

Be were pleasantly surprised today, popped in for a quick visit and spent a good few hours here. Very well organised, lovely polite staff too. Kids really enjoyed the trail and free ice cream. And what’s more our dog Bruce had a fab time too, with free treats. Even had his first ice cream while listening to the live entertainment

Great free family day out, highly recommend a visit.

A super place to go and so different well worth the drive some amazing things to see ..and some wonderful ideas ..the sort of thing I would have done and could be done ...people want to go that's what's different .... We had a great time and the Kids loved it. Lovely music being played on the piano while having a drink. The kids got free ice cream and did the hunt which they got a certificate and rainbow slime. Staff were all very friendly. My only complaint is that there is lots of picnic tables but all had signs saying no picnics??? This was a pain as trying to explain to the kids they could not eat there food is a nightmare and then eating it in this weather in a car is not good

Visited yesterday with daughter and grandson,I haven’t been for about 3 years and it’s changed a lot, very spread out now and in some places looking a bit forlorn. Knife Angel is very moving tribute to lives lost and I hope it can get to London.

Maybe it needs to start charging a small fee to help with running costs but still a great place to visit.

User

I love this place but was so disappointed yesterday with the cafe. Called for breakfast. Only one family ordering same time as us, we ordered two breakfasts we waited half an hour. When it came the bacon was rock hard, the beans looked like they'd been sat under heat lights, the egg was cold and the sausage was overcooked. Toast was cold. It's not a cheap breakfast and I expected more to be fair. I did fill in a feedback card.

User

Lovely day yesterday with the sun & music have been several times love the exhibits but have never impressed with food . Tried to order bacon sarnie but was told it was after noon even though customer before me had ordered one- staff had asked chef if it was available and they accepted there order -not good enough can’t have one rule for some and one for others.
