The Brooke Society

About The Brooke Society

Founded in 1906 and run by the students for the students, the Brooke Society aims to foster a culture of community among Caius historians. We are open to all interested in our events, irrespective of your college or subject! We hope to run an exciting programme in 2021-2022, combining panels, speaker events and socials. We are of course adapting to the Coronavirus situation by drawing upon videoconferencing. The Society aims both to tap into the extensive and diverse historical research taking place here in Cambridge, whilst also hosting eminent historians from around the world. Past guests have included Orlando Figes, Andrew Roberts, Helen Pfeifer, and Simon Szreter, among others. Presidents: Jess Black, Sebastian Erskine. Secretaries: Ryan Farnaby, Kieran Holder, Thaqif bin Johan Aris. The society is named in honour of Professor Christopher Brooke and Rosalind Brooke.
