Read below for more detailed information:... Ambition for Ageing is a great opportunity for local groups, organisations, businesses, neighbours, groups of friends and individuals to apply for funding to reduce social isolation in people over 50.
Ambition for Ageing is a £10.2 million Greater Manchester project aimed at creating more age friendly places and empowering people to live fulfilling lives as they age.
It is funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Ageing Better programme, which aims to reduce social isolation of older people.

The ‘Tea Cosies Project’ raised a fantastic £300.00 today from their Afternoon Tea Event for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you to all that attended, all the volunteers for their time, and to everyone who gave so generously...and enjoyed some cake and a nice cuppa!

What a brilliant couple of weeks of the beginning of term we have had 😊 All the children have settled in really well and are all enjoying their time at Pre-School. The Pre-School is now full for the full school year until September 2019.

This term the Forest School sessions are still really popular. The Pre-School children are really enjoying the sessions 🍂🌳🍃

Free ‘Introduction to Sign Language’ Sessions.
This is a great opportunity to take part in 10 weekly sessions to learn introductory level sign language, delivered by the Manchester Deaf Centre.
... Every Wednesday afternoon 1pm-3pm from 7th November 2018 at Burnside Centre.
To register for the course please see the link below or contact the Centre on 0161 643 5775. Places are limited but there will be further workshops in the New Year so we will be creating a waiting list if the demand is high.
This course is not accredited and serves as an introductory level but if the demand is there, then more advance sessions may take place in the New Year which people can progress to.

Burnside is holding their annual AGM (Annual General Meeting) on Friday 26th October 2018 11am at Burnside Centre.
This meeting is open to all of the community. If you would like to voice your opinions, concerns or hopes for the future and how we can best support that, please save the date and come along!

Free Accredited Level 2 Customer Service Course for adults.
Registration for this course will take place on Friday 14th September 10am - 3pm at Burnside Centre.
Please come to the Centre for 9.30am to speak to staff beforehand, just to make sure this course is the right option for you.
... This session will be a full induction (10am-3pm) and then the learner will complete the course in their own time (distance learning). Burnside Centre will offer support, resources and guidance throughout the course. For more information please come along to the registration day and ask for Joan.

Rochdale Council have announced proposed cuts to 15 community centres in the Rochdale Borough; including Burnside Centre.
These proposed cuts would have a really negative impact on our services. We would be really grateful if people could take a few minutes to look at the proposal and give their feedback using the link below. Your opinion and feedback really does count and local councillors are keen to hear from you!

Pre-school re-opens for the new term on Monday 3rd September at 9am. For any parents who did not make the open day there will be paperwork for you to fill in when you drop your child off. We are looking forward to the new term. See you all Monday 😊

It's been fantastic having Skylight Circus doing their circus skills workshop this week! The children have really enjoyed the session and have been fully engaged with all the activities. The staff at Skylight Circus Arts are truely wonderful so a big thanks to them. Plus we have two more of these sessions next Monday and Friday 1pm-3pm. My two children go to this preschool. They've been amazing with my 4 year old who has some behavioural issues. They have offered me advice and provided me with helpful information. And my 2 year old has come on loads since starting only last month. Lovely people. Great nursery.

Love the nursery. Cant believe I didnt send her earlier. She had developed loads since going and i really trust them with her. So much better than a child minder that ive had in the past. Would recommend to anyone

Just had our sons one2one with jenna from pre school cannot believe how our son as come on at the burnside pre school always comes out smiling saying how much he had done that day cannot praise this pre school enough

Just had my daughter Peytons one to one with her key worker she's doing brill and loves going I cudnt ask for better staff I feel so comfy her being there her keyworker is lovely and Peyton loves her a lot .. She let me bring her assesment book home to look at there's pictures and everything looks like she really enjoys herself very happy mummy

Just had lexie-Leigh review with her lovely teacher Holly. Lexie has always loved working with Holly since she started pre-school. Lexie is doing really well & has come on leaps & bounds. Her speech is amazing. Holly said her counting & colours are very good for a 2 year old. Lexie is doing great with her ABC as well. I am over the moon she settled in to Burnside pre-school as all my children went to this school & even some of my grandchildren as well. Holly has just said she will be a fairy in the Xmas nativity and I can't wait to go and see her with mummy & daddy. Well done Lexie-Leigh keep up the hard work. ���

She has come on so much since starting in November she absolutely loves 'play-school' as she calls it, and is upset when she can't go at the weekend! Her speech has improved, general behaviour and listening skills and we couldn't be happier with her progress. The team of girls work really hard to deliver fun and dynamic projects to the children which really resonate with our daughter as she is always talking about the things she's learned that day. I'm always excited to see what fun things they have planned for the day. They have lots of ways for the learning to continue at home too such as reading books and a homework book which is a huge hit with dad as he misses dropping off and picking her up. Can't recommend this preschool enough. ���

Had my daughter Emily's one to one on Friday with her key worker Joanne, Burnside Pre School is fantastic, the staff are all so friendly and kind and would do anything to help if they can, The staff put so much effort into making the sessions funny yet educational for all the children and this is all documented in Emily's file which I was able to bring home to show her Dad. Emily loves attending and is always coming home with stories of all the things she has been doing or singing along to songs she has learnt, I would highly recommend this Pre School to all my friends and family as both my daughters have attended and they have both enjoyed/ enjoying the experience. Well done and a big thank you to all the staff

Evie-Mai Will Miss Everybody From Burnside When She Starts Big School In September, But We Want To Say A Big Thank You For Looking After Her So Well While Shes Been Here.
