This week in nursery we are celebrating Chinese New Year, children are enjoying learning about different cultures and their celebrations, they were excited to learn its the year of the pig. We have made noodles from playdough, tasted a variety of Chinese food for snack, shared fortune cookies, explored noodles with chop sticks promoting fine motor skills. We have made Chinese lanterns and danced as dragons to Chinese music.

Children are busy this week making their own binoculars to join in with our bird watch, we are recording how many birds we see of each variety in our garden area. Children are very excited talking about the birds and describing what they look like. We will then make graphs at the end of the week to find which bird was most common, how many birds we saw altogether, least common bird etc.
